Fastest car (stock)
2003 Viper SRT-10, 0-60 in 3.9, 1/4 mile in 12.1@121. I never said anything about the car being under 3 seconds to 60mph. The STi is 100% built in Japan. The WRX is a lower %, but mostly built overseas.

I'm sorry I meant 4 seconds for the viper.....but about the WRX....I'll look at my Window Sticker when I bought my WRX when I get home, I am sure that the WRX is also 100%. I'll scan it when I get home.

Forgetting one sub-50k price range though, M3.
That thing handles like it's on rails, and isn't exactly a lightweight in the power department either. Anyways, until he says why he even asked the question I'm going to take my leave from this thread =P

The Indiana plant builds the Legacy and some Foresters.

Fastest where? What kind of comp? It is always up to the driver. Look at NASCAR where the best Ford is a Chevy. Go to an auto-X and see for yourself it is all about the driver.

I'm not sure about the question??? Do you mean quarter mile or on the open road? The E-55 amg is probably the fastest. I just saw some guy run his at the track an he ran 12.8 consistantly. But the best bang for you're buck, would be the new cobra. I know a guy that bought a bigger pully and exhaust, which is no more than $500 and he was getting over 460 at the wheels. I watched a video of a guy completely destroying a E-55 amg in his cobra(he has less than $600 in his cobra). If you were to buy a cobra and put a $1000 into it, there wouldn't be much that could beat you on the road. And remember, a cobra cost about 1/4 of the E-55 amg.
Z06 runs the 1/4 in the low 12's. One example is a 12.4@116 (by r&t). They also tested the E55, it ran a 12.5. So the cars compare close in a straigt line. The E55 weighs in at 4200lbs, the Z06 comes in at 3181. The 55 has to lug over 1 extra lb per hp than the Z. So, it cant stop quicker, and is not as agile. The 55 pulls .83 lateral g's vs. the Z's 1.0g. It also costs nearly 30k more. Next point, the Vette will be ALOT cheaper to modify. For the same price as the E55, you can have a 550hp twin turbo Lingenfelter Z06. The 55 isnt a bad car, it is the fastest luxury sedan in its class. It is a fast car, but is a luxury sedan. The Corvette is america's sports car and has been for over 50 years. For its price (50K) nothing (new) compares to its performance. Out of your list, the Z06 is the best bet.

z06 duh, its a 50 grand race car stock. then its the STi.
best bang for the buck, STi and evo, easy. with a simple catless exhaust the sti is able to hit 12's.

So yes it's still close, but the E55 IS faster. And we're only talking about straight line acceleration, not handling, weight, price, etc. The E55 was not designed to be a direct competitor to the Z06, obviously. It just happens to be faster in a straight line.
Just FYI, the Z06 is $52, 985 and the E55 is $79,207 - a difference of $26k, not $30k. Also, the E55 has a supercharger - how difficult do you really think it is to get a lot (btw, "ALOT" isn't a word) more HP out of the E55? Can you say "smaller pulley"?
But mostly, it's still an apples to oranges comparison. The two cars are built for entirely different purposes.
