I was driving down to SB with my parents to move in for school and was very anxious, driving an unfamiliar car (mini van on loan), on unfamiliar roads. Should I go for this, or do I have no defense? My court date is at 8am, 2.5hours from home. Oh, also, I can't do traffic school. Let me know what you guys think.
I think:

1. 97 in a 70 zone? You were definitely going plenty over the speed limit. No real defense if you get caught doing that.
2. 97 in a 70 zone in a mini-van? Did you bother to check the speed rating on the tires of that mini-van in order to see if it's even safe to do so? I've seen some crappy collisions happen from people driving too fast, and have blow-outs - not a good thing to do.
3. 97 in an "UNFAMILIAR VEHICLE"?? On "UNFAMILIAR ROADS"??

You'd better simply own up to your error(s) in judgement and simply show up ready to pay. Try to remember that if you're unsure of the vehicle you need to SLOW THE F*** DOWN, not speed up.

Oh, before people start ripping on me for being hypocritical, I've done 100+ on public highways - on ZR rated tires in an all-wheel drive vehicle with which I'm very familiar and aware of the conditions under which I've sped. I also take responsibility for my actions if I'm caught doing such speeding.

Maybe I should increase the font size?

Besides, I have ZERO points on my record, and never had one ever. I paid only half the fees I was billed for. I made out VERY well.
