Hi guys,

I want to get my windows tinted and wanted a vendor recommendation. I am in Oakland and prefer to stay in that area.

Also, do you have any recommendations as to questions I should ask, type of film to use, etc.?

EDIT: I did some Yelping and it looks like this could take most of the day and cost $300-$350. Is this accurate?

Yep sorry to waste all 30 seconds of your life by asking a question that's been asked before. You'll notice that I also asked about what to expect in terms of price, duration of labor, and what questions to ask because I've never gotten a car tinted before. I didn't find any of that when I searched the forum.

maybe call up a recommended place and ask them their price, duration, appointments, etc? i mean, they have been doing it for a very long time.... even the guy i recommend in livermore has been doing it 28+ years.

advice=call and ask? talk directly to the pro?

He did my car ('09 Hatch) for $300 for 7 windows and sun visor and it took a day.

That was over 5 years ago. Tint still looks great.

 

OK, sorry, kinda jumped all over you. I didn't notice the "Welcome" at the top of the message. Some of these forums people like to school people who don't search the forum first, which I did.

Yes, I can call around and ask how long it'll take at each place and how much it will cost. I just thought someone could give me a ballpark figure for both estimates. And having never tinted before, I think there are a lot of different options out there and that people on here might have opinions on the best for heat protection, leather protection, UV ray protection, etc.

 

+1 for Vince, only person I recommend for tint and clearbra.

He's done both of my cars. First time, the tint peeled after curing period and he redid it without questions.

He's super busy and you should schedule ahead. Depending on how busy he is, it could take whole day. I got tinted almost a year ago and he had some guys working for him, so that improves the time. Easiest to drop off in the morning and pick up in the afternoon.

Can't comment on cost as it depends.

 

Vince has done 2 of my cars, but he's a busy person, schedule possibly months ahead of time and don't expect your car back for a day.
