I would take an Evo anyday over a USDM STi. Sorry to break that bad news to you guys. I do like the FHI 6 speed though, that box is bulletproof.

He has a point, that Evo 4g63 can make gobs, and I mean gobs of power and it does have the PERFECT bore and stroke. I may have my new silver, or white Evo with a CF wing and sunroof here in around 2 weeks...I can't wait.

Hey like I said in my post, I'd take an Evo too  , but the problem is that I hate how he says mod for mod, stock for stock the Evo has top end when all tests and physics point to otherwise. The Evo is a superior car (stock wise) in terms of overall balance compared to the STi (again, thank you SOA for setting suspension to understeer unlike a true spec-c no, I'm not whining about not getting J-spec stuff, just find understeer unacceptable for a car this caliber). However, it's too obvious the STi has the potential to make higher hp and better "top end" mod for mod.

Seriously though, if people were serious about getting high hp, nothing like getting an LS1 in a Camaro or Firebird (assuming the car price is relatively the same; sure someone could get a saleen s7 with it's 7.0 liter pushrod engine and boost it for insane hp, but keeping the same car price), turbocharging it and ripping everyone a new hole in straight line drags.

actually if people were serious about getting high hp they'd get a Supra or a Grand National. There's this myth about big domestic V8's being godly at making power that's partly perpetuated by the media. Every manufacturer has its tradeoff.
