This is a nice little wake up call. No matter how good or secure you think your job is...it really isn't.

This is the number one reason why people don't go into business for themselves. They are afraid of the risk.

News flash, unless you get in a time machine and go back to the days of dot com mania, you'll never get rich working your *** off for someone.

Start your own business, write your own checks to yourself. Stop busting your *** for someone else and bust it for yourself for a change.

or maybe take a system admin job. I mean the pay might be less but there is more jobs.

Go around to a bunch of the small businesses around town and offer to maintain/manage their setups. Get about 4-5 customers and you should be alright. Plus most will let you setup remote management so you can do most of it from home.
