I added an F1 style tail light (4th brake light). I put it on a switch so I can activate the blinking mode on the fly and it serves as my "jdm" rear fog/brake light. I didn't like the ones for the GR/GV that sell for $180+... Did mine on the cheap cheap. Mounted it to my new, rear diffuser

At first I thought about building a fig rig but the camera person would still have to lean out the car and then at higher speed and corresponding air velocity, the rig would not be stable with potential to dropping. Suction cupping a DSLR to the outside doesn't instill confidence for me.
Here's a pic of my rig (Uploaded sideways? - ugh). The camera is attached to the bottom platform via 1/4" bolt (mounting standard). The arms craddle the inside door card. On the top are handles that allow to lift and turn the rig 90 degrees to be able to either shoot 45° to the front or rear (some camera angular adjustments possible at the mounting point). The remote shutter mechanism is attached to one of the arms and routed into the vehicle. The camera strap can also be tethered to the rig or inside the vehicle for extra security.
Upcoming enhancements include a mount on the handle to allow simultaneous dual cameras for normal and lower height video/static shots. I might also include height adjustment by using a sleeve mechanism with predrilled holes.
I thought about the ability to rotate the camera so as to be able to "follow" the subject 180° but since the rig would be used at speed I thought it would be prudent to start with a secure mount with no moving parts and then build on the fly adjustability after this idea was proven out.
Total project cost <$50
