Nice! A friend just got the same and installed it. What sort of results should one see after a few thousand miles? Should this help with oil consumption?

Yes and no! More on that in a moment...
You know, I just checked, and it’s the same part for all flavors of Imprezas, WRX’s, STi’s, sedans and wagons, from 2001 to 2007...
This appears to be part of a greater theme of not knowing how to Subaru...
I had some lumpy idle and could sell the rich in the cabin. Turned out the MAF was barely hanging on by a single, overly long bolt.
Got an oversized rubber band holding it down until I pick up the right hardware after work.
The headlights weren’t wired up on the inside, and the alignment specs were pretty whacked out in the front. One wheel was -0.6, the other -2.6. Wat.
I don’t think the alignment shop they went to knew what to do with the adjustable top hats, and they were apparently confused by the extra camber bolts I have in all my struts too.
I’m a big fan of mitigating circumstances, but after whatever reason(s) that it took 4 months, this is just nonsense.
Pina’s Auto Kolor, avoid.

Last Drive Train / Bushing Mod..
Prothane Subaru Rear/Front Differential Insert Bushing Kit
Prothane Rear Differential Insert Bushing Kit (#16-1610BL)

Functionally equivalent to the Whiteline (#WHI KDT903). Not sure why Whiteline is charging twice the price though.
