Warriors thread
Yes, but u get rid of Biedrins and his contract, and have room to sign/trade for somebody else. The Warriors can't sign any free agent above the midlvl exception outright next season (if there is one) due to cap space, but they can acquire players through trades. I think the biggest issue right now is getting a center who can rebound and play defense. Udoh is more of a PF. Size of Curry/Ellis isn't the main problem at this point.
I agree the center spot needs to be addressed. Whether it's Curry + Biedrins or Ellis for a center, the salary coming back has to match. But by moving Curry + Biedrins, the PG position is now a problem. From a cap perspective, it's a wash. The only way to clear Biedrins contract is to find a team that actually has cap room that is willing to take them without giving back a player. No one will do that.
Move Ellis, start Reggie Williams at SG.

RWilliams may not even be back next season. Plus he's a big liability at defense.
Curry's good, but he has his moments where he gets a lot of petty fouls and is benched for most of the game when he's in foul trouble early on. Scoring will be a problem in those games if Ellis isn't with the team.
Either way, team needs to figure out what to do with Biedrins. Out of all the big contracts on the dubs' roster, he is the least productive player with one of the biggest salaries on the team. Clearing his contract will be the biggest gain for the team.

And hopefully a new player. I like my scenario with the Sixers trade that I posted, but I'd trade Monta for Iggy in heartbeat.

Also, new assistant coach supposedly plucked from the New Orleans Hornets, Mike Malone. He's a defensive minded coach who knows the X's and O's and played an integral part in the Hornets early season success, I suppose. I'd assume the Mark Jackson hire was just an enabler since he's got a good rapport with a lot of important people around the league (which also includes players).
Players coach definitely, but I'm not really sold on the hiring of Jackson. We've been hearing from Lacob how he preferred a HC with experience, yet Jackson has none. Plus Lacob didn't even bother to interview Dwayne Casey from the Mavs. Sounds like a spur of the moment thing for Lacob.
