You're not going to feel much difference with just a catback. It'll sound cool, but that's about it. The up pipe and down pipe is where the magic happens

I just want more of the rumble, i'm happy with the power i'm getting for now, i might get the 3'' flange with the hush in case i decide to go with a new up pipe and down pipe.

you can always pick one up later, they're like $35 or something. speedelement has them.

can anyone chime in on if a catless/aftermarket uppipe will make the droning worse? if so how much of a difference?

I didn't notice a huge change in noise doing (just) the uppipe.

That might push you over the edge

I have a gutted stocker uppipe, catless prodrive shorty DP and the stock (catted) 3rd section and midpipe going to a Stromung dual tip. And a good amount of Dynamat/Dynapad in the trunk. That's about the right level of noise -- push the throttle and you get a nice rumble but it's not horribly intrusive. Wouldn't want it any louder for cruising, though.
