no shmembership, just show up with $35, License and your car not falling apart.

They have loaner helmets

If all goes well they will have fun runs at $1 each, so you'll get 8 runs for $39 i dont think of autoX as "seat time" but some people do so youll be happy to know its 8 minutes of it (since their courses are usually 50-80 seconds...unlike other organizationz heheheheheheheheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee)

yay, ive done an SCCA Marina and SCCA Oakland event and i learned nothing at all of them. The Marina courses are tighter which makes them even harder so you learn even less. I love doing stuff and getting no experience out of it, as a matter of fact, i think i get worse every time i go!!!!~

hopefully they put the cones up so you can actually follow the course and not get DNF like about half the people did last time.

I didnt drive it, just saw a lot of people go straight through the huge gap instead of slaloming through the smaller gap.

You're right and you're wrong.

some people on this board go to UFO events and post top 10 times each time... the same people once in a while come to SCCA events and are 150/200...

the scca regular who posts top 10 times nearly every time goes to an UFO event and wins by over 3 seconds...

Yup you are definitely right, it's the driver. But course design is a tool to improvement as well.

So what?

We all know the SFR is a tough region. It's also at least a 90 minute drive each way for me to get to. That's a long way to go for 3 minutes of weeeehaaa.

Marina is 25 minutes away, 4 runs and they frequently have fun runs.

So I might get 9 runs in Marina and you get 3 at SCCA. But you're sure you're going to learn more in 3 runs than I will in 9? OK, so you're a fast learner, but I'm having more FUN! I don't much care if I'd only be 200th quick at a SFR event. I don't do it for those other 199 guys, I do it for ME.

That said, if SFR events were 25 minutes away and Marina was 90. I'd probably be looking down my nose at people who go to UFO events right along with you.
