Variable Turbine Geometry

Is anyone using VTG on the street? Are there any turbo manu's that make turbos that would bolt on to our engines? I wonder sometimes why we never see it on our cars..I know the 997 turbo uses it. Too expensive?

I think it's the cost, I know Porsche just recently completed some studies/tests with it's new version or something like that...

its funny, Ive known about VNT turbos for years, since i used to fool around with XR4Ti's. Chrysler first used a Garrett VNT Turbo WAY back in 1989 on its Shelby CSX http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shelby_CSX
and I was always interested in these turbos but never heard anymore about them. Then almost twenty years later they come out again on the 997 turbo and everyone acts like they are brand new exotic technology that porsche came up with, and I was thinking, hell these came out back in the 80s on a Chrysler of all things!

in any case, I would get a hold of ATP, I know Garrett is selling VNT turbos off the shelf, so if anyone can get you one its them, otherwise ATP is also selling twinscroll turbines for Garrett GT series turbos now which is by itself quite awesome

I know its not new, . Yea, it used the VNT-25 turbo. I just wonder why after all these years people still aren't using them much. Maybe I will give them a buzz :P.
