Oh wow 2wks for Jackson? Quicker than I thought! Good news!

As per big name signings; wasn't the idea to wait til 2010 (if I remember correctly) when a lot of big names will b free agents aka Nash?

unless somethign drastic happens...we won't be a major player in 2010..because of recent acquistion of maggette/ellis/biedrin...and extension of sjack. of course this is all as of today. who knows, we may pick up expiring contract sometime before 2010 free agency hits. but i highly doubt it because, everyone's gunnin for 2010.

no, that was my idea. I wanted the warriors to start dumping Maggette and Crawford (dunno how long Crawford's contract is) through trades for somebody with an expiring contract so that we could go for Steve Nash in 2010. Because we need to get back to the run and gun team that we were when Baron was here. Or, more importantly, we need a true point guard who knows how to run the offense.

Or, simply trade Maggette for Baron and go back to the way it was. Because either way, we don't have the cap space to sign anybody big in 2010 with Maggette and Crawford in the lineup.

2010 Draft should be good.....?

The likes of a pure point guard, natural scorer, they should draft Brandon Jennings!!!!!

brandon jennings is already in europe. he committed to Arizona but couldn't make the grades to go, so he's been playing for a Greek pro team the past year. he'll probably enter the '09 draft. he's athletic as hell, but small.....basically another Monta.

W's need a bigger guard, imo, and a banger down low to help shore up the paint. getting a true center would be ideal. that'd allow biedrins to slide back to PF, which is his natural position. the only prob is that there'd really be a glut there w/beans, wright, & randolph.....3 lefties w/essentially the same skills and bodies. i don't think both randolph & wright stay in the off season. one of them will probably be packaged in a trade.

btw, no dis, Turn, but i dunno about going after Nash in 2010. he is a great floor general, but he'll be 34 then, and he's alreayd declining. W's sorely do need some vet leadership and a competent PG, but dropping a boatload of $$$ on Nash at that age would really put them behind the 8-ball.....kinda like the Mavs w/J-Kidd. Kidd's a lil more durable too, albeit less of a scorer.

Look at what Chauncey Billups has done for Denver or when he was with Detroit. Detroit got rid of him because he's getting old, but he's still performing. As for Nash, he works much better with a run and gun offense than a half court/post up offense. I don't follow the Suns, but after acquiring Shaq, I thought they've slowed their pace down and go post up.

The Warriors have already dropped a boatload of money on Maggette and Crawford, both of whom I don't think jive well with the original squad from last year. I honestly don't think they'll go anywhere with those 2, IMO. With Nash, at least the W's could go back to the run and gun high powered offense that everybody loved, which would do well for ticket sales and revenue (I suspect season tickets for the next 2 years will drop dramatically unless they do something about their record and/or acquire a significant all-star to the team).

Just look at what Baron did to ticket sales when he came to the Warriors via trade. At the time, fans were wondering whether this was a good idea or not, and whether we should've taken on his hefty contract. Since then, most, if not all home games were sold out at Oracle Arena. The Warriors owners have made their money back, and then some, during Baron's stay with the W's. I'm just saying that even though Nash is old and would require a big contract, he can still bring back ticket sales/revenue to the Warriors management/owners and as a playoff contender. Can u say the same for Maggette and Crawford?

i thikn u guys are forgetting something important here..and that is nash's view of the warriors. why would a 34 year old guard, who hasn't won a championship ring wanna come to the warriors (even if the W's could afford him) and run with the young bucks. it doesn't make sense for him at his point of career. i think he clearly said that he wants to either go to nyk (re-join d'antoni; possibly even join Lebron) or play in his home country in Canada if things don't work out in phoenix.

no, i didn't forget any of that. it was in that long as# reply that got flushed, just like the Lakers chance to win the game tonight.

sorry, but i'm really ticked off right now......more than even losing the title to the Celts last year. we straight up got beat fair and square then. we got ROBBED by the dang refs tonight. i can't believe it. i never blame losses on refs, but we got done.

anyways, no mood to really get back into it now, but in short, i do not think the W's will be able to get any bonafide big name stars to join their squad. they've always had trouble doing that. losing baron will haunt them for a real long time. keeping him was their only chance of ever changing that. they'll be stuck getting lower tier 'stars' like maggette, crawford, etc.......guys that don't really have a whole lota leverage and just can't turn down the $$$ the only chance they'd have of landing Nash would be just cuz of his age, and the job $ecurity. but i don't think he's the type of guy to go for that. like you said, he's old and hasn't won anything. he's made enough $$$ already. he'll want to go to title contenders only IF he's given the option. but his game is already declining. i'm fairly certain that almost all his #'s are down......pts, assists, rebs, minutes.......turnovers are up too. i don't watch every suns game, but i've seen quite a few over the years as Lake Show fan. he's still better than any PG we have or probably could realistically get, but i think it'd be a real mistake to commit too many years & $$$ to him.

not W's related, but Steve Nash & the Suns are getting their as#es KICKED by the Celts right now. Rondo is owning Nash, even though he can't shoot beyond 6ft from the cup!

Good shooting game too by the W's against the wiz's (lol). Its a shame how many horrid fouls are called against maggette but he was owning jamison, just blowing by. Plus jackson back to his "on fire" 3s. Randolph with some nice J's off the bench. and then morrow with some sweet 3s along with the almost buzzer beater that shoulda been a foul.

How is it that for like the past two games, the opposing team goes up for an offensive rebound and the opposing guy goes to turn body with the ball and it ends up in corey's hands? haha its hilarious!
Cant wait for ellis!
