If Maggette leaves, the warriors would go from 2-3rd in getting to the free throw line to like last place lmao

So my gf is a Knick's fan (she's from NY) so we always go to the Warriors v. Knicks games. Well, her favorite player is Allen Houston, who retired a few years back. Well, we were sitting 5 seats next to him, so she was able to go up to him, chat it up, get her Allen Houston jersey (which she wore to the game) signed. Even better, Allen Houston was sitting next to Donnie Walsh (pres. of Knicks) and so she was able to sit next to him and chat it up as well. Although I'm a Warriors fan, it was still cool to see.

Imagine going to a Warriors road game years from now, only to sit next to Stephen Jackson or Monta Ellis, and be able to chat it up with them for a while....

Good job with Portland yesterday.

On other news, Miami sends their thanks to Shawn Marion with his game winning dunk over Chicago by trading him to Toronto for Jermaine O'Neal and Jamario Moon. Toronto gets Marion and Marcus Banks

I watched the game last night with my girl. We both wore Monta Ellis jerseys, so imagine her joy when Monta hit those clutch jumpers Pretty exciting game, but quite a few questionable calls on both sides. I'm still confused why Rudy fouled Jamal when they were only down by 4 with 51 seconds to go.

kyoung05 - it's Allan Houston. As you can see, I'm a big fan Man, I still remember going to the NBA store at NY last year and asking one of their employees for help finding an Allan Houston jersey. I was answered with......

"Allan Houston.....hmmmm.....what team does he play for?"

He thought they still had 2 fouls to give when they only had 1. Under the 2 minute rule, the team fouls don't matter (they had 3 before he fouled Crawford twice). If you commit 2 fouls (shooting or non-shooting) inside the 2 minutes, it's automatically free throws the rest of the way regardless of total number of team fouls in the quarter. Rudy forgot about this and got an earful from his coach.

Question Question to those that have watched a Warriors game at the arena....

What time does the shoot around usually start ? If I'm early enough, will they let me in to the lower areas just to take some quick pics ?
thanks

That trade probably isn't going to happen.... They might get Bosh but i doubt that also considering they would be giving up Biedrens, Turiaf, Randolf, and Marco for one guy. I would do it but i doubt the trade goes thru. Warriors need to get rid of maggete or crawford .

im ok w/ that trade as long as we don't inclde turiaf. we're gonna be losing our both starting and back up (our only big men) if we let them go both.

i guess warriors are high on bwright than randolph. im not sure if bwright has the personality to be a star in this league.

i mentioned a while back that the W's would have to give up at least 3 players to get Bosh.....guess I was more on point than i even thought if that #1 "most likely trade" on ESPN.com is legit. losing Ronny would be a terrible blow tho. it'd leave the W's w/ZERO toughness/presence in the paint. giving up Beans too would be idiotic cuz they're already getting manhandled in the paint+on the glass. but as i also mentioned, W's don't have any real trade bait. they're gonna have to bend over and give up a couple of their 'best' dudes to get anyone good.

that said, i've been fine all along w/giving up Randolph or Wright and a future #1 pick. W's are def higher on Wright than Randolph. Nellie is for sure. it's likely cuz Wright is a bit more polished and came out of the lauded UNC system under Roy Williams. combine all that w/Wright's higher b-ball IQ, and that pretty much means adios to Randolph.

ultimately, i also still doubt Bosh will do much for the W's. he'll get us a few more wins based on his stability, but the W's need a whole lot more than Bosh to become respectable again. as always, they have to do something tho.

I wouldn't do the trade. You'd give up biedrins, randolph, rambo, turiaf, AND a future #1 pick. So that's 5 quality players for Bosh with an expiring contract in 2010.

If it did happen, Warriors would have cap space, but in all seriousness, Bosh isn't going to stay. I guess the bright side is that we would be able to make a bid for another superstar in 2010, but the team's all messed up as it is and like everybody else has been saying, no superstar is going to want to go to the Warriors. The only exception to that might be Yao Ming, since there's a strong asian presence in the Bay Area that he might be attracted to. It's just going to get more messed up and the Warriors would be stuck rebuilding the team for another 5+ years.

As for Wright/Randolph, I still think Randolph has more promise than Wright. Randolph posseses most of Wright's abilities, plus he can run the floor and handle decently for a big man. He's also better on defense in terms of blocking shots and getting rebounds.

Although Maggette's been pretty good off the bench, I still think Warriors should deal him and Crawford somehow and keep the other guys mentioned in the Bosh trade.

thing is that the W's have been stuck rebuilding the team for like the last 2 decades.........seriously!? i mean, throw out that one miraculous year they got back to the playoffs and beat the Mavs w/B-Diddy, and there've been years and years of terrible draft picks, free agent signings, AND STUBBORN REFUSALS TO USE THEIR TRADE ASSETS *WHILE THEY STILL HAD VALUE* (i.e. Dumbleavy, Diogu, Murphy, O'bryant)

once again, the W's have no one to blame but themselves for their futility. they're the ones REPEATEDLY shooting themselves in the feet!

now, when it comes to young players, upsided and potential are great things to possess, but you simply can not build a squad that consistently wins in today's L around a bunch of "coud be's, should be's, & we hope they might be's." it takes a combo of veteran leadership, incl. from the front office & coaching staff, as well a raw & talented young bucks. you can't just throw a bunch of wild horses out there on the floor and let them run around all game. sure, it might be exciting at times, but how many games are you going to win?? look at the Blazers & Bulls. their squads have been stacked w/#1+lottery picks.....much better ones than the W's, but they're both floundering.

again, i don't think bosh is the answer either....even if he came at a much lower price. and, yes, there's no chance in you-know-what of him re-upping w/the W's in 2010 even if he does come over. but the W's have really put themselves behind the 8-ball this time. they just gotta do SOMETHING.

^The warriors got much more valuable trade for Murphy and Dunleavy in Jackson and Harrington. I like Jackson and I think he's our best player.

As for Randolph, he is definitely promising. Just look at how few minutes he plays (past 3 games he has averaged 5 pts and 6 rebounds in only 7-8 minutes of play). This game tonight he already has 4 pts and 6 rebounds in 8 minutes. I just find it funny that Don Nelson would start him though, considering the mistakes he made the last time they played the Lakers.

Tomorrow's the trade deadline. I don't think the Warriors are going to deal. Which would be the right choice at this time.

Oh and GO WARRIORS!

finally getting rid of Dunleavy and Murphy was a nice move, but they were worth more during their early years w/the W's. there were several teams interested in them and Diogu. the only reason they were able to get Indiana to take them was that they were desperate to clean house+the team's image after the Pacers vs Pistons brawl.

Randolph is a good player and has a lot of raw talent, but I'd rather keep Wright to build a winning team. Wright night not be as explosive, but he's a better all around player. Randolph is getting by on pure athleticism right now. if he learns how to play the game and shoot the midrange J consistently, he'll pretty good. of course he needs to get a lot stronger too. these are all big IF's tho, so we shall see.

that said maybe Randolph is starting tonight to generate some last minute buzz among potential suitors. trade deadline is 3pm tomorrow. he's playing well tonight.

and.......GO LAKERS!!!!!!

What's up with comcast sports bay area channel? It's been blacked out the whole game. I'd rather have commentary from the local guys (fitzgerald/barnett) than the espn guys.
