That the only thing I love about Machida... I HATE Evans. That made my day.
And yes... I way hated on Machida because he just danced around but I think he's figured out he can finish people. I still don't like the style but he can definitely finish. I think the style works against a lot of fighters. But with guys that aren't scared to go after him he has a huge issue.
I'm just a fan of guys that like to get down.

Bleh, he lost, got out pointed. Kinda like how Mayweather wins as a boxer. Lots of technique, not a lot of face to face rock and sock 'em robots. Technical, not super exciting when considering knockouts and a brawl. But still gets the job done. He rarely finishes off people.

I think most people would agree that he outpointed him. At least that's what I've read from the people here... what we're saying is that it is LAME. The better fighter did not win that fight. It happens from time to time. Someone feels like the did enough. That was a huge mistake on Diaz's part and it really annoys me. He didn't go for the kill until it was too late. I honestly think that if he would have done that sooner this fight ends in the 2nd round. Frustrating fight for fans of MMA and for fans of Diaz.

In my opinion when a fighter does that multiple times, it should get a point deducted because I dont know of any martial arts/boxing that teaches you to turn your back on the opponent willingly as you run away tail tucked between your legs. I kept having flashbacks of Brock running away.
Props to Condit for winning the fight even though a lot of people gave round 1/2/5 to Diaz. Its going to hurt his PPV buy in the future. He didnt do anything exciting that makes him stand out. Diaz and Penn could lose 9/10 of their fights and people would still pay for their PPVs because they bring their swag to the fight and make it entertaining/go to war.

Machida isnt a 1-2 run guy. Hes a counterstriker. It sucks when he gets matched up with anyone that isnt aggressive but he definitely doesnt turn his back on his opponent and run away multiple times in a fight.

And I definitely agree with the turning and running thing. Condit would literally turn and run. He must have done it 40 times. That's why he would through those useless spinning back fists... it created enough space that he could run away. Just like those damn downward strikes to the top of the knee... That's hands down my least favorite strike in MMA. It should not be legal. Taking a guys knees out is just a ***** as bar move. Get your knee blown out one time and you'll realize how disrespectful that move is.
I was a big time Condit fan up until this fight. I knew he wasn't ready for this level of comp yet but I at least appreciated his fight to finish style. Now... not so much.
If he does that again I'm gonna put him in with guys like Clay Guida that I detest. Guida's last couple fights have been annoying as hell.. is hair swooshy diva monkey style is retarded!

I would totally argue you on that.
Some of the nastiest knockouts I've ever seen were in K-1.
And the grandaddy of them all:

While not the most beastly fight plan, Condit's worked, Diaz didn't adjust (until that takedown in the 5th) and that's it. I'd love to see a rematch with a more aggressive Diaz working takedowns in addition to his usual walking down of the opponent. That minor change would surely get him the victory.
In other news, I like the new & improved Verdum, enough so that I wouldn't mind see him mix it up with Overeem again. So long as he doesn't just flop on his back and wave Overeem in, as happened in their Strikeforce bout, it could be the fight Lesnar V. Overeem should have been. In the mean time, does anyone else get a lil tingly about putting Verdum up against Frank Mir, in Brazil, co main eventing the Anderson Silva / Chael Sonnen rematch?

Verdum was impressive but he was also fighting a very slow guy that just stood in front of him. I'd like to think that Frank Mir would be much more of a challenge. I think Mir wins. I'm looking forward to the chael/silva fight because Silva has had a while to work on his back game and his take down defense. I'm curious if Chael's stand up has improved.
The fight made me gain respect for Bisping more than anything else and made Anderson look like hes on another level compared to those two. My prediction is Anderson puts Chael to sleep round 1.

The Chael that I saw in the Bisping fights certainly didnt look ready for Silva but who knows. His hits looked like they lacked power and Bisping would get up easily everytime he got taken down. It was another point strategy win.

Silva is more content to stay on his back and strike from the bottom or throw triangles. And given Chael's habit of getting stuck in them I really don't see that changing all that much for Silva. If Chael can get to him and get him down as often as he did the first fight... he'll win on points.
