yeah i was thinking that, because the warranty is pro-rated.
and i dont care how much ive spent so far.. i really dont.. as long as i can afford what i am trying to buy..
and if i drop 10-15g's onto my loan.. i will be able to finance an sti easily i think. right now i am spending 500/month on payments. so i know it would be lower than that, i have found sti's for 23g's with 25k miles.

i am also about to drop 15g's on my wrx to help pay it off.. so i will be so far from upside down it wont matter at all..

I have always overpaid for every car I have ever bought until I started buying on the Internet.
www.carsdirect.com
I have bought both from the website directly and allowed one of their "special dealers" to contact me. I got the most amazing price offers from the "special dealers" really!
Example: at the end of 2002 I was looking for a 2003 Honda minivan - the carsdirect price was 30K, the dealers wanted $34K, with the options I wanted. The "special dealer" who was the Honda dealer in San Leandro, gave me a price of $28.5 K - no joke. I ended up not buying, but it wasn't because of the price.
I also was looking at buying a new 2003 MBZ 230 SLK convertable - the "special dealer" turned out to be a car rental place in Dublin and the price was more than $5K below what a dealer was giving me.
Carsdirect has been really good to me for new cars. Cars.com is not as good.
Notes:
Carsdirect dealers that I recall for 2003:
Toyota = Fremont Toyota
Honda = San Leandro Honda
Subaru = Livermore Subaru
I forgot the name of the MBZ place sorry.
