Any other WRX owners thinking about trading/selling for the Evo? (like myself)

I can't remember the last time I got this excited about a car's debut. Oh wait, I guess it was back in 2000 when the WRX was coming out :-)
I love the whole package with the Evo (271 hp, Brembo's,
17" Enkei's, AWD!!!). Might even come with that trick ACD.
Only downside seems to be (a) sticker price (b) poor reliability.
The Evo and the E46 M3 are two "sporty" cars I'd consider buying and would not modify at all. Except perhaps those altezza's on the Evo.

A) sticker price
B) poor reliability
Doesn't seem like enough to you.
The EVO does look like a fun car and but you cant really directly compare it to the WRX. It is like saying would you rather have a Lancer or an STI.
Another thing to consider with the EVO is no one seems sure about what is actually coming to America last I heard no ACD and lower horsepower to make it more affordable.
Call me jaded if you want but the last Mitsu I owned cost me two engines. It was an 93 Eclipse GST and the Chrysler engine smoked twice. Not because I modded it, but because of valve to piston contact. Nothing like bening stranded 3 states away from home. I loved the car and really missed it (Especially because it landed me in a civic DX). But no more Mitsu for me.

hey
have you seen the pick of the evo 8? the looks have really swayed me from that car. here are a few other details that have been confirmed....
no acd, or yawl control
5sp
$29,999
brembos
recaros
the interior is butt ugly personally (besides the seats). at this point without driving one, i am leaning toward an STi. and to say you dont want to mod the evo is silly. the wheels are hideous, and the front bumper needs to be changed immediatly. comparing either of these cars to the M3 is also kinda silly. if you have the $$ for an E46 M3, than why in gods name are you considering either of the other 2. possibly wait until the new v-8 s4 gets here, and get the awd with 360 hp. for the same price as the M3.
and if you have a rex AND that kinda $$ you could make a REALLY fast rex. way faster than the other 2 not modified.

I actually really like the Evo VIII's look although not quite as much as I liked the Evo V-VII's looks. The looks really aren't the deciding factor for me. Anyway, what's this complaining about the exterior coming from WRX owners!!
And the Enkei wheels are NOT hideous!
MMC reliability or lack thereof really is the biggest issue for me, as pointed out by WRXSTIle. But if it costs $30K and it doesn't come with the ACD, I probably won't even try to test drive it. AYC doesn't seem all that attractive anyway.
BTW I just mentioned the E46 M3 as an example of an affordable performance car that I wouldn't modify at all. The Evo, STi and E46 M3 are just 3 cars that I would love to own and probably won't want to modify.
