there is so much ghey "bling" rap, wack-assed gnu emo/pop/ghey wannabe rock music, and other rejects, its safe to say that rock is dead.

there are still bands whose lead singers are trying to rip off Kurt Kobain's voice, they should be shot...

311, Incubus, RHCP, and some other of my favourite bands are putting out garbage new music, it hurts.

And **** the RIAA, ASCAP, and BMI (all extortionist racketeers) for having it out for smaller, less-known artists.

Do you know that if a nightclub has only local bands playing original music, they have to pay ASCAP and/or BMI for a license, and that money goes to losers and ***s like Madonna and Sting???

 

Bling rap pisses me off to. I hate it with a passion. Like Kurt Kobain after Tupac's death that whole genre pretty much went to isht wih the exception of a few good artists.

And as for rock and the teenie bopper pop/rock groups today they're just as bad as the rappers. But Incubus, also one of my favorites, is a great band who have been in it for a while, I think Fungus Among us was their first, and they have evolved and made it to the top through hard work. The new CD takes some getting used to at first and I think their sound is a little more grown up now and rightfully so since they've grown.

And I didn't know that the local groups had to pay for a license. But it doesn't surprise me.

I actually enjoy some of the "bling" rap. Sometimes you just want something to bob your head too> I love 50 cent. I even have some eminem stuff. DMX. Snoop. N.O.R.E. I don't go all out though..haaa. just some. Though...damn is it ludicris...has that video where he's wearing the chain with a platinum white dude around his neck...I love that stuff..haaaaaa.

Just like I have some "trendy" rock and what not.

There's good music everywhere.

Now I shall go back to my. outkast.

 

Oh, I love a good Bling production. Anything by Neptunes (duh), Kelis, 50 cent, Missy Elliot, Eminem, Jay-Z, etc. I can find something in all of the above that I can appreciate.

Love my pop too, Michael Jackson, Madonna, Prince, etc...

...and Fannypack! I will see them everytime they do a show in the Bay Area. Now they know how to rock!

But Britney, now she's an untalented hack. I have never understood all the fuss with her. I see prettier young nubile bodies on a daily basis just walking down the street. She was the worst thing that ever happened to a school girl uniform. And she has a dozen or so choreographers at her disposal and she still can't dance?

And no matter how many times people proclaim it I have yet to see rock "die".

 

That's the only rap I listen to....acually Dre's CD only.

For some reason I think of Prince's music everytim I play that CD.

 

huch...I agree with you for the most part....but britney is hot....I have seen better in school girls uni's...but I think she did it no harm.

Also madonna. I like her early stuff. I think her voice sucks. I hate her music now and she disturbs me. All she does is buy beats and songs. She pays top dollar for production and does nothing original at all. I will give her credit for being a good performer...very good...great even. That and she is an amazing business woman. She is one of the best in the business.....women in business..she is one of the best there ever have been. She knows how to use people like britney to make her money. She is passing on her torche to britney and I think there is no better person to take it up. She can't sing but she can put on a good show and has a good business mind.

Bah to all that. I hate that crap. Bionce...all that crap. Fricking my milk shake is better than yours...that stupid **** is making bank when there are bands busting *** with 10 times the tallent that don't see a break in 10 years.

 

I got hosed...bought the cd.....only and big boi in it....no dre cd. So I got one damn cd in a two cd set. I went out of town so I passed the return date...so pissed.....need somone to burn dre's cd for me....I deserve it...I paid for that damn thing.

The reason that stuff sells is like you said it's for the entertainment factor. Britney can't sing for shiz just like most of them Bling rappers can't really rap. But when you see them on T.V. in videos and on awards shows it's entertaining. It's cool to see Britney running around in lingerie with a Boa Constrictor wrapped around her neck. If you think she's hot...you eat it up cause she's sexy which (sex sells)....and if you hate her you hope the snake sqeezes the life out of her. Either way she's attracts an audience. And with each new shoking performance the bar is raised higher and higher (as we saw at the superbowl). But these artists are talentless as far as vocals and originality are concerned. Don't get me wrong tho they do have talent but it's the kind of talent that's right up there with the human canon ball and flying trapeze artists.
