If you drive on snow get the asx, but if the worst you encounter is rain, it's worth getting the MX..they are a lot stickier and perform really well in rain, even when it's heavy.

it's probably better to call an America's Tire Co. and order it through them and pricematch it. I say this because any place you don't buy the tires from will charge you up the butt for them to mount it. It's really up to whomever gives you the quote, but mounting is $1/inch + balancing $1/inch so, if you have 16s, that's 16x2x4=$128.

I used to work at America's Tire and I've seen it done before. So if you get them to price match it, you'd save that much, and if they have the tires at a local shop, they won't charge you shipping either which is ~ 40?

Who has the lowest price for the Hankooks so I can price match them at America's Tire Co.?

If I purchase the tires through America's Tires, they will mount and balance for free?

Nonetheless, they annoyed me with their "wandering" and busy steering, which turned into full-blown tramlining 2-3k miles ago. Toward the end I was constantly fighting the steering wheel because they just wanted to follow every rut and groove in the road... really annoying!

We just swapped them out for a set of BF Goodrich G-Force Sport. Haven't put them through their paces yet, but they are quiet, track well, and grip like mad.

just killed me a set of the gforce sports. i wasn't that impressed with those tires. and if you hate the wandering, these are just as bad. not the most quiet of tire. i don't even think mine last 15k.

Edge Racing http://www.edgeracing.com is the cheapest place to get the RS-2s.

You will have to pay mounting and balancing seperate at America's. But maybe if you order through them (and get the price match) they'll cut you a deal on the mount/balance/warranty. Just seems to depend on who you talk to...

There's a post above that talks about price matching w/ America's tire. If I get a price match, then mount/balance should be free, right?

According to ucbsti's post, he wrote " Installation & Lifetime Computer Spin Balancing $11.00 $44.00 " So America's Tire charges 11/tire if you buy it from them for mounting/balancing, which is a lot cheaper than trying to get them to do it by buying it and then trying to get them to do it.

I always buy tires from www.discounttiredirect.com(America's Tires) because when you take them to one of the retail stores, it's only $11 per tire to get mounted. balanced, and toss your old set.

yea, so what you do is:

take the edgeracing website print-out to america's showing your tire size and price

ask them to match the price

they will order your tires

you don't pay shipping

america's will charge you their regular price to mount + balance

**and that's how it's done, people!**

You don't pay shipping as long as the tires are at some store close to the store you're buying at. If they have to order them, it's something like $10/tire which isn't bad.

But other than that, that's the way it's done.
