I went from Yoko ES100's to Falken 451's. For the same money, the Falkens are superior in the dry and far superior in the wet. About the only place a I like the Yoks better was at the limit, they are a little more forgiving. But the limit for them is lower than the Falkens. The feel of the Falkens at the limit is something you have to kinda get used to, it's not scary or anything, it's more like they kinda feel like they're going to let loose, but they don't.

I've run Kumho MX's 225 45 17 10K miles and very happy w/them. Very good in rain so far, more grip than you could ever expect from a street tire. 220 teadwear. AA traction. Unbeatable price for performance you get. Don't drive them anwhere near snow.

If you like tires that are unstable at the limit, I guess the ES100 is the tire for you.
It's all about the quality that you demand from a tire...

from someone who actaully had the Azenis, they were not that bad. the Dry traction was great, they werent even that bad in the wet. I dont know how they would be with alot of standing water/ and freeway but around town they were not as bad as everyone thought they were.

not confused one bit, and it seems that I actually have had ES100s before, and my opinion on them is that they are teh sUck, but hey, it's just my opinion.
I believe in paying good money for quality tires, since they are so important, of course as represented through your skill as a driver, to how your car handles, brakes, and responds in emergency situations.
If you like cheap tires, so be it!

It's totally fine if you don't like AVS-ES100s - really, I don't care, but there's no need to tell me that I like stuff that sucks simply because you don't like them (for some un-known reason besides "they are teh sUck"). They are a great tire that I have used on street and track. They have never let me down. Of course, more expensive tires are better, but that should really be obvious.

This is why I like the Yokohama AVS-ES100 because it's a good tire that offers great grip for not that bad a price. Of course my S0-3's are a much better tire, but then - they cost a lot more so they should be.

Honestly alot of ppl that come by my work just are not satisfied with those as much as the Potenzas. Only draw back to SO-3s is treadwear but hey thats what the Tire Protection Plan is for. But hey this is my opinion.

P.S. To hear about Yokohama's new line of High Performance tires please PM if you would like to hear and trust me its worth hearing HAHAHAAA...

Not only that but the level of grip on the ES100s are really not as high as they are rated because the rubber on the tire is just too hard just like the Michelin Pilot Sport 2 i mean don't get me rong the hard rubber may be good but if you really want them to grip it would take longer since its made of harder rubber, if you ever feel the sidewalls of those two tires and compare them to the SO-3s, the Pilot Sport 2s and ES100s are just too soft on the side, they are just not good for track attacks as much as the SO-3s.
