Cool Tires Tires Tires

I've got a new 04' WRX that I want to put some good summer performance tires on, and then use the Potenzas for the fall/winter.

Any suggestions? I'll take horror stories as well so I know what to stay away from?

Falken Azenis ST-115 are supposed to be pretty good inexpensive summer tires.

Just try not to hit water with them

If you're rich, go for the king of tires, Potenza S03

Actualy , I have those falkens and they have performed fantasticaly for me in the rain too , you may be thinking of the azenis sports which have the bad rain rap.
I covet those tires , but that is a sweet deal from costco on tires that look good and have gotten good reviews both dry and wet.

Exclamation What About

What about Yokohama's AVS ES100's??? Not expensive and has good reviews from what I can tell. I've also talked to a few people at a local performance shop and the only thing they don't like is the tread wear.

I love my so3's (225/45/17), they put me back $720 but I think they were well worth it. These tires are great on dry pavement and in the rain.

I've driven the ES100's and the ST-115's and, IMO, the ES100's SUCK.....the Falken FK-451's are a great solution...the ST-115's are more of a HP(quiet) touring tire...the 451's are more performance.

I made the mistake of buying the Falken Azenis.....they SUCK...the Kumho MX's are FAR superior.
