Tires

What do you guys think?

I need new tires and I'm getting desperate.
I'm dropping my car off for alignment tomorrow morning. Friday AM at the latest.

I'm looking at lots of tires.

Right now I'm running ES100's and they've done pretty good. For not being an all season tire they've treated me pretty well.

I'm checking out the Toyo Proxe4's. Cheap. Good tire. I don't know much about them. I used to run the tires they replaced.

Conti Extreme Contacts
Kumho's. the asx's have a crazy 420 tread rating and rate decent in all areas. Not great. But good.

What do you guys think? Anyone ever run the Proxe4's?

I run 225/45/17.

Sorry I know this isn't answering your question but maybe you could answer one for me? I was wondering how the ES100's are in the rain/dry weather while cornering and highway driving.

-Thx

They kick **** in the dry and do VERY well in the rain. I had them on my WRX and bought a new set for my Celica. They never let me down ever. Now my RS has S0-3's and the Celica is getting RA-1's since it's summer soon... I got a great deal on the S0-3's otherwise I probably would have gotten another set of ES100's for the RS. The only downside is for me, the 225/45-17's were very loud. For some reason my 205/60-14's on the Celica are dead quiet with the same tread pattern (but different speed rating).

according to this thread, it seems pretty awesome. right on par with the, T1-S its summer tire counterpart. http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=734043

but any particular reason you want an all season. if you arent gonna be in the snow, just get a summer tire that performs well in the wet, like the falken fk451 or re-750 (or was it 950, well the summer one). they will perform better than any all-season in the rain.

no particular reason. I do go into the snow but I have stock rims getting snow tires for next season. And for the remainder of this year I don't need em. I can handle the snow just fine with whatever tires I put on my wagon.

Mostly I'm looking for a good tire that's not gonna bust my bank. I'm pretty broke right now. Lots of expenses hit me at once.

I used to run the falken's....how much are those running these days? I like them.

Get the Proxes 4 or the Falken Zeix 512's, both are cheap all season tires that do well in the dry as well.

You can get them @ Auto Innovations in Milpitas.

Doh!, www.tires.com had a sale on Tuesday and they sold me 4x225/40/18xPZero Neo M+S for $404/- shipped.

Call them and see if they still have the sale?

thanks for the info WRXDad.

zoeb....I'm dropping my car off at AI for alignment on friday morning. Probably get my tires there.
they quoted me $490 for the proxes4's. $480 for the z512.

I don't care if I get a summer tire or an all season since next winter I'll have snow tires.

edgeracing.com has pretty good prices on falken's and toyo's. i bought a set of falken st-115 from them with no problem. shipping prices were decent too. the falken st-115's are supposed to be good in the rain and pretty good in the dry. the big thing is that they are supposed to be a real quiet tire.

well for me the SO-3s kick **** in the rain and best in the dry and since i work at wheel works i get a 30% off discount so that makes me happy to get the SO-3s for my stock wheels 205/55/16 i love these tires in the dry season but since they got only a 220 treadwear i had to get the tire protection plan and i recomend anyone getting tires from wheel works or any other place that offers this plan to get them they will help you in the long run TRUST ME.....

Just make sure you use round ones. Those square tires sure are hard on gas milage.
