If the cop connected with each shot the victim looks like he suffered fatal gunshot wounds from the police officer.

Any insight?
from what i have read, he landed one shot and missed two. That is pathetic for a "trained" person. Also as you see there is a gas station behind the victim so those two other shots hell all three could have cause much more damage and harm to others.

That's better than most cops... Avg in officer involved shoortings is 1 in 9 if I recall.

That is pathetic and COMPLETELY expected. High stress situation, overreaction, yep, and cops are no different than anyone else; they're human not robocop. Even trained professionals, and I am definitely NOT saying *all* cops are highly trained, can and do make mistakes. This looks like a clusterfluck of epic proportions, but is not surprising due to his reaction. LEO are trained, but if you want to be really good at something, you need to train more than just standard training, and that's on the individual. From the video, it sounded like more than 3 shots, but at least 3 for sure.

Trust me, if you look at the stats for LEO incidents, you'll probably find far more incidents where the hit percentage is extremely low. Everyone thinks because they saw it in the movies, it is easy (not saying that's what you're saying). Those who shoot with any frequency know that isn't reality. One of my instructors said in his final stage pistol class, they put a black bag on your head and hit you with boxing gloves and then you have to remove the bag, recover, acquire and hit your target center mass twice or you fail. Guessing they don't train LEO like that...SWAT maybe, but LEO, not likely.

You're right.

My uncle is a retired detective with a few marksman trophies in his case. He told me a story one time about a full out shoot out he got in. Both he and the other guy emptied they're guns. Neither hit. Talking under 20 feet here.

People that talk **** about these kinds of situations have never been in them. Anyone can stand in front of a target and hit a target. A target that isn't moving in random directions at random speeds and possibly shooting at you.

Even the military guys miss a hell of a lot more than they hit and they're often times hunkered down. Even snipers miss.

It's not the movies and they're not tom cruise snapping shots off behind their backs on moving motorcycled hitting center forehead.

I think there are certain people built for greater things.

1) People are born for it, practice it, and wallah, become the Lebron James of the NBA.
2) People can practice as hard as they want, but just naturally not as gifted, and just be decent, but not great.
3) People who are naturally gifted, dont give a ****, and could be great, but just decent in the end.

The same goes with many of the jobs out there. Some are naturally good, some are only decent, and some just dont give a ****.

4) This officer definitely isn't a Lebron James and definitely misjudged the situation beyond epic proportions. He suffers the consequence, end of story.

5) This country was born on defending against oppression, I feel like since then, it's slowly given ground back to the "Britain = our government" and we've slowly lost the idealism that we fought for.
-We have people buying iPhones, which naturally track who you are for $700 bucks for a cool screen! (we the sheeple...)
-It never should have been odd that someone 'carries' a gun. There should have been some law like jury duty, except it would train citizens with firearms.
-Right now we have a government that isn't transparent, and pretty much does crap behind our back all day long with the cover up of 'defending us' when we should have been defending ourselves. But our nation has gotten lazy, we outsource, we don't build, and that idea of defending ourselves is like some after thought.

6) I'm not saying we don't need cops. I'm thankful for them (or at least the honest ones). I am saying that the long term objective of a typical citizen doesn't do it's duty like it did back in the day, hence we are a lot lazier and take things a lot more for granted because we're blinded by this media who says this and that. 'We pay taxes, plz defend me'

7) I mean it's crazy how pumped up the media makes things, ie Iphone sales (talk about government trying to promote USA!) and then think about how the 'NFL is too big to fail' and right at the beginning of the season you have more news about the 'dark side' of the NFL. Not trying to be an asshat, but the reason why there is PTSD in military people is the same thing for some football players. They have rage, which is why they can do the job they do on the football field. Doesn't surprise me at all that some of them have domestic violent issues. Yes, I don't agree with it, but UFC/Boxers/Violent sports all have that characteristic and innate personalities. The Boldin's, Steve Smith's, James Harrison's all have a certain swag. Same with the intelligent ones, they don't physically bully you, but mentally I guarantee Peyton will bully you breaking down game film.

I lost your point after Lebron James. If you're going to use a basketball player as an example who actually worked towards getting better at his craft.. Jordan or even Kobe would've been the perfect example. Lebron is all genetics. If his work ethic was half of Kobes or Jordans, he would actually have a move other than barreling to the basket and drawing a whistle.

Anyway now we're totally off topic.
