Starcraft 2: Wings of Liberty
It's official, July 27, 2010 is the release date as announced @ E3. So who's gonna be playing?
Did anyone play the beta? What did you think? Were there any units that you thought were overpowered? Or is there any race that you think really sux and needs help.
I enjoyed it. I like how it didn't veer too far from the SC1 mechanics, but the new units feel pretty fresh. I didn't notice any 1 unit as being too strong, though an army of Battlecruisers is pretty rediculous if you let the terrans sit. goliaths are pretty strong also.

i played the beta and i had to relearn the whole thing.
maybe its because i had to relearn it but it didnt feel the same as sc1.
units only share names from sc1, everything is different.
as for unit balance, i don't think i played enough to really know but marauders were pissing me off.

Was in diamond division going 15-7 at the latest patch.
As for balance, EMP seems really buff. In fact, terran in general seems stronger than the other races. Protoss is pretty balanced overall. Zerg is decent, but I feel they need a larger array of units.
Not sure if I plan on buying it when its released, but I'm having sc2 beta withdrawal since I have no other games to play.

I'm definitely going to buy and play it. I just hope that I don't get addicted to it like I did back in the SC1 and brood war days.
(I'm still wondering if that's an ironic statement, considering my user name. LOL)

Going through withdrawal here too! One reason I started this thread to at least talk about it haha. Didn't they say they'll bring the beta back up for a couple weeks before going live to test the server hardware?
I got more into Terran after discovering how strong the goliaths are. reaper rushes are fun, and the maps with islands seem to favor b.cruisers armies.
Zerg needs more unit variety, it's always just: zergling rush, then a million hydras or a million mutas. Not much finesse needed, just swarm.
Protoss are kool, and I think are my fave.
i liked the multiplayer maps alot, tho 4v4 seemed too quick (of of the 2 peeps up front always die quick, then it's 4 on 3). With the units that can climb up elevation, that added some pretty kool gameplay mechanics for base expansion other than "just make air and drop them in"

I've had my copy prepaid and reserved for a while and I'd been playing beta for a while. Race and unit balance seems pretty solid. Zerg can be a late game monster but seems to struggle mid-game from what I've seen. Terran is pretty strong with those MMM ***** backed up with any heavy units but there seem to be enough counters to make things work.
I can't wait!

Wow it took this long to release? Geez it's been like how many years now lol
I don't play Starcraft, but waiting on Diablo 3 to come out. Anyone want to take a guess to when it'll be released? 5 years from now? lol

Starcraft 2 was on hold until WoW lost it's steam. I'm guessing D3 won't come out until SC2 dies down... I'm looking forward to that game too.
I'm disappointed so far, but then again i already expected SC2 to be really automated and easy to play.
And also the micro feels really different and less significant than in SC1.
All you need are 3-5 hotkeys, 2 for your army, one for all the nexuses/hatches/cc's, and another couple for all the building structures grouped together.
We'll see though, i hope blizzard proves me wrong.
