6gb of ram, hardcore guy =P. I run the same card, but with a slower/cheaper still built for gaming x3 =P. More cores = More multitasking.

Depending on the game, and when it was built, it might use more cores. Most games are single, some maybe 2. Almost none are 3, unless you specify and edit how it performs.

so I've read its really just an ATI video card problem..

People with the same card and other ATI cards have this problem also

Temp fix is running window'd fullscreen vs. fullscreen

tanks > Stalkers & zealots

Immortals can take care of tanks and thors pretty easily. A few collossi will cut through MMM ***** but they're fragile so you need some zealots or stalkers to provide meat shields. Psi Storm also wrecks infantry.

There are no goliaths in multiplayer. The only hard ground counter to void rays is mass marines. Thors are too expensive to be a viable counter. If you can catch a terran off guard with 6-10 voids they're pretty crispy.

StarCraft has always been a game of counters. Just stay a step ahead of your opponent and force him or her to react to you. I usually run a two gateway start with heavy zealots. Keep putting down pressure and harass with some stalkers until you can roll out void rays.

I just picked up SC2 and haven't played multiplayer yet. I'm not too far into the campaign but its story line and customization is like 1000x better than the original. I like how they introduce a new unit almost every mission and you have to unlock a lot of stuff. I really like the toss vs zerg research stuff.

Are the reapers any good in multi player? seems like you could easily hop up on someone's minerals and bang their comand center really quick with their siege type damage.

I wanted to finish the campaign on hard before I play online, I get confused on what the new units are capable of and still learning hot keys since they changed them.

reaper rushes do happen, and could be effective depending on what your opponent is doing. If you scout with your scv, and you see that they are not trying to rush and going for tech or expansion early, reaper rush can do pretty well.

Yeah I was playing single and thought, these guys do mad dmg vs buildings and could get in and out real quick

I'm totally digging single player right now, lots of variation. Are there any custom game types online?

I've been playing a lot of Turret D (red circle), Nexus, and Overrun.

So I finished single player and then got around to online play... Half the units aren't even there! Makes sense though for balancing reasons. Marines and med would dominate everything. Terrans are kind of weak against air without goliaths though. Hydralisks cost 2 supplies? they aren't strong enough for that.

So i've played about 30 games and got it all down. My only beef with the game now is that it seems like there is only 1 maybe 2 viable strats for each race.

99% of terrans go MMM and eventually roll out tanks and thors

Protoss is usually stalkers and eventually colossus, void rays are viable.

Zerg usually just zergling rush. I prefer roaches. I had this funny game last night where we were playing against a few terrans and they had build depot walls and their entrances. I researched the abilty to move while burrowed and brought in like 15 roaches when some guy when to hit me across the map and raped his base before he got back. then I just defended all the minerals until he was broke.
