Right....
Hey Jaister I was the same way when I started.
I came over from the Honda community, and had no idea about subarus.
I think the biggest reason for the flamage is you are asking questions that are answered in alot of places on this forum.
I am glad you are here and that is why these forums exist is to ask questions.
I hate pointing people to other forums but heck most or all of us have accounts on NAZIOC look at unibombers manifesto in all the stickies. It is very helpful.
You are fortunate in that you already have a great platform to start in the STI.
I unfortunately have a WRX so I am limited or was limited by my 2.0, and 5 speed tranny.
A good place to start heading to your 400WHP goal would be Turbo, injectors, and a fuel pump, and maybe an intake, along with a tune.
Selecting the proper turbo and injectors will mean the difference in your power levels.
I dont know how many e-85 stations you have there in daily city but running E-85 helps.
I think the stock block is capable of holding those power levels but youre not going to get a ton of mielage out of it.
Good luck, use the search feature when looking at different turbos. I.E. I plan on running a Blouch 20GXTR. It should be capable of close to 400 with my mods on E-85, but searching and researching should help you find a package that will suit your needs.
I hope this helps.

Nasioc newbie forum. ask for uncle scotty. he will help you pretty good.
budget build wouldnt require that much. 20g, e85, injectors and tune ~2k
once the motor blows, its only another 5-10k to get back on the road.
