No, I didn't. My dad seriously guilt tripped me and they also threatened to kick me out, which would prove to be more expensive than it would be worth. :/ oh well. Now my life expectancy didn't drop I guess.
I'm going over to Rider's Choice today to check out some bikes. I will prolly end up picking up my friend's F4i tho, but I really want a Honda 919 or especially a Triumph Speed Triple. You will never see me riding with a knee on the ground tho.
I sat on the F4i and I do like it, but I am thinking of maybe holding out for the 919 that I really want. They also had a couple SWEET Ducatis in there, really nice 996 right by the door. Love those things..

1. You're going to crash. Period.
2. One mistake on that bike could possibly cost you your life. Period. Even if you are driving safe, you know you are going to open it up from time to time and if you don't know what to do when you start losing your control, that 600RR will eat you alive, literally.
Anyways, wear your gear and I would strongly recommend a F4i or an older used 600 cause like I said, you are going to drop it.
Crap, just read you aren't getting the bike. Can't you convince your daddy to at least get a slow bike? even a Ninja 250 is a blast ;p

if i do start riding, i would want a small bike so when i beat people in the mtns i can really rub it in their face when they see what im using. I think it would be cool to ride a tiny ninja so when you pace people in the corners on their baller bikes you can point and laugh.
My Dad's KTM 400 dirtbike with slicks should do the trick
theyre pretty fast. 40-45 HP inside of 240 lbs not too bad.

Here's my 2 cents.. I started riding in 3rd grade, Z50's, 80cc yamaha...then moved up to DT100, XL125/XL185...did some trail riding and a bit of motocross...as I got older, bought a 600r Ninja, rode for 2 yrs...(this was 10 yrs ago). 2 yrs ago, I got an urge to ride again but because of my kids and fear of getting hurt...even on a small spill, because it's inevitable riding around here..oil slick, stupid drivers etc.. I just bought me a Miata
Twisties are just as fun, less risk and I like it when I ride side by side with a motorcycle and they look at me with my top down going 80mph with no helmet
If it'll save you some pain or your life in the future...start slow and move up...You'll have more fun, no doubt...if Fun's what you're after.

hey do you guys think a ninja 250 is a good starter bike or is it too weak? i was thinking it would be good because ive never really ridden a bike on the street (lots of dirt experience) and it looks pretty nice as well. (and hopefully insurance rates wouldnt be too high for a teenager)
