So I'm considering picking up a 600RR

I had a 04 600RR. That back was awsome. It handled great, wasn't twitchy at all. Smooth power delivery and VERY lively up top.
If you have the right attitude, riding it will be fine. I wish I still had that bike. My 86 VFR feels like a tank compared to the RR.

Will this be your first bike? I see no mention of it being your first, so I'm guessing you currently ride something else.
I have a CBR1000RR and try to get out as often as I can. I'm usually on Mines Rd heading down from Livermore to the Junction. :-D

This would actually be my first bike. A lot of people are mixed on 600RR as a first, or going with a cheaper bike that I wouldn't mind roughing up a little during the learning process. I will for sure be taking the MSF safety course, and will probably go to the advanced one after I've been riding for a bit. I think the 600RR is fine as a first bike as long as you respect it and stay aware of other drivers and whats going on in general. Its such a sexy bike .
I've been considering a bike for a while, and then the other night I was thinking how brakes for my car would be so much $. Then I was like you know what, for the price for performance, screw it, I'm gona get a bike. lol. I'm gona have to be super careful though..I'll definitely be getting gear and wearing it when ever I go out. Anyone have any recommendations? I know I saw one link already.
I am definitely going to take a look at the F4i's as well, they are also on my potential buy list.

u say that now.... its just like a car..... u put a whole bunch of money into it. full exhaust, power commander, sliders, gear, susp..... maybe some new fairings if you wanna take it to the track and become a better rider too! its a money pit as well!

Uh, not even CLOSE. Its so much cheaper to maintain / mod a bike. Seriously though, I won't do much. Sliders I will, probably the rear splash guard removal and license plate relocation kit. A better sounding exhaust...and then I'm good. Maybe some HID's. All that is the price of what it would cost to do an exhaust system on my car. lol.

600rr is a great bike. I've considered downgrading to a 600rr.
If one is set on getting a specific bike, then there's nothing anyone else can say to change that person's mind. All that can be said is, be very carefull. It's not called a Supersport for nothing. Wear the gear and be alert. And for the first few weeks, better wear a diaper too. Don't want to soil your nice new leathers.

A good place to start looking for gear is Motostrano is Redwood City or Road Rider in San Jose. They have pretty good prices and you can try stuff on.
