i know how to drive a car, and have never come close to an accident. i just keep my head about things and want to approach things safely, its all about having a good time and i cant enjoy it if im in a ditch. i have seen a lot of kids try to show off and stuff and end up regretting it big time, accidents do happen, and i might as well try and do what i can to avoid them.

Hey I think Soggynuts just gave the best piece of advice for a young person with a sporty car:

"Don't try to show off"

This doesn't just mean to other people, don't show off to yourself either. If you don't feel comfortable attempting the manuever you are about to do in a bone stock civic DX and you are relying on the quality of the equipment as opposed to the quality of the driver to get you out of a situation, don't risk it.

yeah, about a year and a half ago i fish tailed in around a corner in the rain, right in front of a CHP little did i know, i got off the hook when he could have given me wreckless driving, speeding, and unsafe lane change... i woulda been f00ked but the guy let me off and i really did learn from it immediately and felt like a moron, it was in a residential area, i am unexperienced in drifting and things like that so i could have easily lost it, its always a possibility that a kid or someone could be walking on the sidewalk and had i lost it could have fooked them up. the cop explained all this to me in a cool way and it really did teach me a lesson. i dont show off anymore, even for myself
