Know your limits. And don't ever try to keep up with Mr. Soper on a backroad drive.

And if that's an RS, it's plenty capable to easily lose control.

L's, slightly harder...

I'll assume you know Soggynuts by your comment. But let me know if I am wrong.

I don't think Rich's idea of a slow drive is right on.
C'mon Rich, Saturdays drive was anything but slow. I bet you guys had to drive slower on Sunday due to the wet conditions, if not, you are nuts.
BTW, I flat spotted one of my Tarmac 2's that day.
That wheel is gone/totaled/kaput...

Practice is the best. Like Necromancer said, Unlimited laps or any other (HPDE) High Performance Driver Enthusiast track session is a safe format to learn yours and your cars limits.

That is really an L? If so that is a very, very good RS conversion. I thought it was an RS when I saw hte pics you posted the other day.

Kevin, Saturdays drive was not a slower drive. I thought we all desided since most of us agreed we all wanted to go fast, we did. But yes we did go a little faster on Sunday. Yes we are nuts.

Soggy, don't worry i "know" what slow is and i will be in your car with you. So i would like it to be slow and we'll go alittle quiker each time around. I think it's best to run the same road or turns over and over again until you begin to feel the right way of driving them.

"Guys i know what i'm doing, so stop scaring soggy."

When you say you want someone to teach to drive, what exactly are we talking about here. First we need to determine the stage you are at. Use this handy dandy chart to figure that out. Only then can we prescribe the correct treatment.

Stage 1 - I haven't actually ever driven a car except that time at Disneyland
Stage 2 - I haven't actually ever driven a car except that time my dad let me back the car out of the garage
Stage 3 - I did the driver's ed thing. Now what?
Stage 4 - "*****in' camero, *****in' camero I ran over my neighbor"
Stage 5 - ok starting to get the hang of this. Driving fast is fun
Stage 6 - whoa!!! where the f**k did he come from.
Stage 7 - bet I can beat this guy off the light
Stage 8 - how come the car didn't stop sooner. You'd think it would with the tires making all that noise. Sorry about your fence/tree/lawn/garden gnome
Stage 10 - Hey bud! betcha can't catch me.
Stage 9 - how come the car didn't turn sooner. You'd think it would with the tires making all that noise. Sorry about your, fence/tree/lawn/garden gnome
Stage 11 - Sorry officer, I won't do it again
Stage 12 - That's the last time i'm going to drive home from a kegger.
Stage 15 - Oops, that was close better drive a bit slower
Stage 16 - ok drive fast here, slow there
Stage 17 - brake on the straight, late apex, accelerate out of the curve.

Bonus Stage A - what's this stick shift thing
Bonus Stage B - what's that funny smell and why's it jerk like that
Bonus Stage C - Wow, as I go faster I change up but if I really want to go faster I change down. How' that work?
Bonus Stage D - how I'm I supposed to get up this hill when the car in front keeps stopping
Bonus Stage E - anticipate the road and pick the right gear before you get there.

Stages 4 through 15 are not strictly in chronological order and are optional.

Bonus Stages A and E occur in order, are optional and may occur at any point in the sequence after stage 1

Tim
PS: I would just like to say that Rich is a very nice guy but he drives like maniac. Not a total loon, but definately a maniac. You will either have a lot of fun or be scared totally siltless. Beware.

yup that car looks sick! Welcome to the club where someone seems to get in an accident every day lol...

Yeah find an empty lot and see how your car reacts at its limits. Clutch out, ebrake, powerslides, steering like crazy and making mistakes while it's still safe, then get the sway bar (or you don't even really need to) and then hit some mountain roads, take a hard corner and MASH the gas halfway through and fishtail out and countersteer. Best feeling ever.

Go to Thunderhill's driving school, sure it's about $200, but the stuff you learn there will stay with you forever. Just my $0.02

tim, you're a funny guy. But yes i am a maniac. but i have tought people how to drive. One even crashed my car at the time just going slow in a parking lot.

it's my opinion that Soggy has an idea how to drive because he seems to get around ok. He's just looking for a little advanced info. I think he'll do just fine.
