so i got a state ref yesterday
Last night I was at a meet and I got pulled over as I pulled into the parking lot. They saw the modified exhaust and so they made me pop the Hood. They saw my intake and wrote me down for that as well. Ended up getting a state ref.
That being said, how detailed is the inspection when they inspect the car? Because I also have an external wastegate and I'm debating whether if I should take that off as well.
And if anyone has an OEM intake that I can borrow, I'll buy you a 6 pack of beer lol or I'll just front you the money for the intake itself.

you can also use an spt intake, sounds like your car is close to stock just smake it stock take it to the ref (thought they were clossed) and then you are good to go. Was it chp or local PD

Thats pretty much the definition of "Modified Exhaust"
this is why I don't go to meets anymore. The last meet I went to, pulled out of the parking lot to go home and had DCPD follow me. Dunno if it was because I was near the Daly City/SF border, but once I got into SF territory, the cop stopped following me.

Best bet is to put everything back to stock then go.
it will waste more of your time if you're unsure and have to come back after you were directed to correct more violations.

**** you guys have it easy tho. I would have to pull my engine out, not to mention a ton of other stuff.
EVERYTHING has to be stock.. well close to everything.
they will pass you for boost gauges or any Ts to vacuum lines.
they will also search for turbo timers and other electronics in the car, and will fail you if they see it.. i know because ive experienced it.
stock or bust. you can get away with an aftermarket intercooler though lol. cause the book says its ok.
this is how strict they are.
if you changed your cat, even though you pass the actual sniffer test.. if the reference numbers does not match for your car, you will still fail. for example. you pass, but they see that cat was made for a mitsubishi, FAIL.. or it says its for a SUBARU OUTBACK, not a WRX. FAIL.
be prepared.
this is why modifying cars is not worth it when you get sent to the state ref.
imagine those with a lot of mods.. the time and labor it would take just to put it back to stock is not worth it. it would be even "cheaper" to pay the $500-600 fine for thsoe who have to swap motors/remove internals, etc etc.

I believe what my cousin from vegas last told me was that there is smog in vegas. The only places there is smog in Nevada is vegas and reno. Also i think the full tint applies to all side windows and rear i dont believe you are allowed to tint the front lol. just saying if you planned on doing it.

no smog and full tint hah
