e46 sucks. you're welcome. I will admit, though, I LOVE that color. One aspect I will admit I like about the e46 M3 though is the SMG option... it's computer controlled blip of the throttle on downshifts is a god send to us heel-toe challenged.

i had the ^^ car and an STi at the same time.

money doesnt make a car automatically good. i dont like the S55 AMG. but the M3 is equally fast as the STi... maybe not as nimble but faster top end to make up for it... and its alot better at long distance driving...

dont bash the e46... one of the most rigid, solid, safe chassis designs of the past few years... and its beautiful...

so what, its a pig, still better than 98% of the cars on the road. it also has great sound insulation, DVD navigation, heated seats, blah blah blah blah... bmw has made the small rwd coupe since the tii's years and years ago... they know what they're doing...

WHOOOPPIIIIIEEEEEE! Cost alone doesn't make it a good car. My girlfriends Gucci sunglasses are fugly as hell, but they still cost a fortune.

p.s. if you payed 75k for your car, I think something is terribly wrong. I'm not "bashing" it anyway. I just think it sucks relative to its lineage. It's still a GREAT car, if not a bit overpriced.

read ^^ response. i understand what u mean. its just that the E46 M3 is a solid product.

i enjoy the sti on track days and the like but the STi is no comparison to the M3 interms of looks etc. the M3 is a straight ballin vehicle that girls <3, is fun to drive, etc.

the money comment was weak, sorry, but you gotta understand that bmw is giving you alot more car for the extra $25k you spend in refinement and creature comforts while retaining a very sportive driving character. it might weight 200lbs more than the WRX but it is very nimble, and what it lacks in agility it will make up for in stability... i went 100mph whenever i could... hit 140mph and the car still felt planted... STi i hit 120 and i feel like im gonna flyyyyy

Oh, and I take back ALL negative e46 comments when taking the CSL in to consideration.

eh, i dont know what to say about the V8. the 8000RPM M3 motor isnt exactly the most reliable thing in the world... it has an insane compression ratio and redline for a street car. its made of cast iron instead of aluminum so its a very heavy inline 6... the V8 is gonna be the M5's engine minus two cylinders so it wont be much heavier if its heavier at all...

it might be a step in the wrong direction, but the new V8 is gonna have a 8000+ RPM redline as well... imagine 400HP V8 4.0L m3...

the E90 only gained like 50lbs over the E46... so with 67 more HP and only 50 more lbs still retaining the high rev concept the E90s gonna be a sick ride.

oh and if u wanna see something cool Evosport came out with a reliable supercharger for the E46M3 that puts out 500 hp to the wheels... 600HP at the crank... while retaining 8000RPM redline... its gonna eat vipers...

The color of yours really makes the difference compared to the other two in that photo...

Where do you live, RS, your house looks like my parents pad in La Jolla just with different trees. Could it be that some developer sold the same "custom" layout to two different unsuspecting owners in two different location figuring they'd never know? duhh duhh duuuuuuhhhhhh!

-Chris

On second glance, yours looks just a tad bigger... that's not in socal though right?

I used to be obsessed with BMW's when I was a kid, but eventually I realized that I like cars that are fast
