some a-hole in a lexus was tailgating me through a two lane tunnle the other day so I slowed down and matches speeds witht he truck next to me. I only do this to people that are being *******s though. If I know I'm holding up traffic, I'll get over. I think people that hold up traffic for their own entertainment are complete a-holes and should be taken off the road by a big semi

+1

Some people think that going faster than the speed limit entitles them to the left lane. It's the cars that are faster relative to each other and not the speed limit that have the right of way.

If I'm driving at 120 and approach someone doing 110 get the ef over. Otherwise your breaking the law (speeding aside). I will tuck back in to the right to let the cars doing 130 that are approaching get by.

Also people who merge onto the freeway and immediatly head for the left lane only to put it on cruise control and park it are just as bad as people who get their food served to them and immediatley dump salt or pepper on it without tasting it to see if it even needed those.

It is already in the vehicle code and considered an infraction:

VC:21654(a) Slower vehicle, in left lane(s).

I believe they can also ticket someone for "failure to yield" as well. However, I'm sure the ticket for speeding and following too closely is worth more to the locality's coffers than the slower vehicle in left lane violation so you probably don't see many of these idiots getting pulled over. However, I do know a certain CHP office who will pull over the slow car and the tailgater and give them both their respective tickets.

I hate all drivers who think they're God on the roads. Just today, I let a guy in my lane thinking he was going to keep the same speed as me as he entered my lane. Boy, was I wrong. He slows down to 30 MPH in a 40 zone, needless to say, I used the lane next to me to get by. After I passed him, got to the next light going 40, he was about 6 car lengths behind. He was slowing down the flow of traffic.

On top of that, I hate people that won't let you merge when you are able to merge - like they just don't want you in front of them for some odd reason. Just the other day, I was going to merge to a slower lane with plenty of space (4 car lengths) and the douche decided he had to be in front of me when I merged, he sped up, I didn't want to speed up anymore to waste my gas, I let him in front.

Man, bad drivers just make me angry, but there's not much I can do about it.

Ya know what I have noticed; IF you are a good driver courtious, kind, ect. Like flashing your lights to someone in the right lane allowing them to merge into the left before they ram into the back of the semi quickly approaching them, they freak out. I think people in Cali have grown so accustom to being cutoff and dealing with jackasses(see above) they can't even recognize when some one is being nice. This past weekend my wife and I drove down to socal; I'd like to consider myself a very defensive, proactive driver. I try to judge someone elses pickle before they get into it and leave them a way out. They just don't get it. I never hold up traffic for pure enjoyment, hell I'm always the one barreling at 95 or so. I had no Idea our cars cruise control stopped at 90 MPH. All I can say is be safe out there.
Does anyone else flash hazards after you've gone by when someone yields as you are approaching in the left lane. I think it's a nice way of saying thanks for keeping your head out of your azz.

Reasons to move right when someone is behind you:
1) The person behind you might be a plainclothes cop, gov official, or doctor on the way to a hospital or accident.
2) The person behind you might be injured or taking an injured or pregnant person to the hospital.
3) It's the law, regardless of speed. If any of the lanes to the right of you are empty, you belong in them.
4) If you have to stop quickly, you won't get rear-ended by the tailgater.
5) The person behind you could be a wanted criminal running from the cops and armed.
6) There is always someone that is more of an *** than you are.
7) It is the nice thing to do.
8) It is not nice to block traffic.
9) If you don't like the way someone is driving aggressively and tailgating you, move aside, and maybe you'll get to enjoy watching them crash.
10) You are more likely to get a ticket in the left lane.
