I'd take a up and down team for a couple cups.

The whole point is to win the cup. We need to be more like Chicago or Detroit or Boston... Teams that have won cups and are always expected to be a finals team.

Sharks are good. I want them Great. I want a cup.

If only it were that easy to magically become an Original 6 team - a team that's been around 88 years or more.

Sure, we've gone 22 seasons without a cup. But...

The Coyotes have gone 34 seasons w/o one (and have never even made the finals)
The Capitals have gone 39 seasons w/o one
The Canucks have gone 43 seasons w/o one
The Sabres have gone 43 seasons w/o one
The Blues have gone 46 seasons w/o one

(And even though the Leafs have won a ton of them early on, they've gone 46 season since their last one)

I agree that I want them to win a cup. I want that more than anything sports related in my life. But you've still gotta put it in perspective. The Sharks are a great franchise with an excellent history so far.

Maybe I just try to stay positive about stuff like this too much, but that's my thinking.

Doesn't really matter to me how many years a team has been around. Every teams goal should be the cup, and only the cup.

We need to be like those teams because they are nearly always a title contender. We aren't. We are a playoff team, but not really a finals favorite by any stretch.

So we need to find more, younger, talent that can give us the edge we need to get a cup.

or two. or three.

Sharks expected to host outdoor game in 2015 | CSN Bay Area

is this our consolation prize for losing historically in the playoffs?

sadly I'd still go and over pay to watch them play outdoors

Yeah agreed, why the hell you going to go to talk to him. He just laid on the ice after Martinez scored that goal.

They gave a shout out to the sharks in the finals. "These kings were down 0-3 to the sharks in the first round"

Sharks can hit the playoffs with style. But they need some muscle and attitude to push their way in best of 7s. They're fancy **** just don't work in the playoffs. I hope they bring in some bruiser lines and get bigger and badass folks who can hog and dominate the middle.

Sharks by all means can get a damn cup for the past few years. They just need to add some attitude. And by attitude I mean some bruisers who will fight or just sit in the middle of everything and dominate their space.

No more finesse. Even Detroit can't finesse their way to a cup anymore.

I think the kings are built for the playoffs, not the regular season. They barely make it in.

A few years back we had the physically largest team in the league with a solid defense and offense that should have been good enough and we didn't bring the cup home. So that is one of those cases were size didn't matter. Guys that will toss the other team out of the way instead of looking for the perfect shot would help though.

I'm just sayin the Ryan Clowe's and Raffi Torres's give the Sharks more ***** to grab. It isn't all about finesse in the league, it's about size too. Just hope the Sharks bring more ***** next time, some physicality. Sure they dont need a #1 seed to get in, the playoffs are so wide anywho. They just need some muscle or something to learn to change the momentum and not just the "oh damn they scored, it's this feeling again of choke."

I believe The Sharks have talant and size, but are lacking Heart & Clutch performers.
Coaching and leadership needs a Re-vamp
