Did anyone see the Sharks injury report?

Thornton - broken finger and separated shoulder
Pavelski - ankle
Couture - broken nose
Boyle - MCL
Clowe - separated shoulder
Heatley - broken hand and ankle injury
Nicol - severe cut to thigh
Demers - ankle

No wonder they played like ****. I play on a partially torn ACL with a big *** brace, and that's hard enough.

^ Actually MN traded its 2012 2nd rounder to SJ, not the other way around. As for the trade, I don't mind. They say he's a top 4 defenseman, and we need better defense. Gotta pay to have top defense. The only caveat here is that Burns has 1 year left on his contract. But, a lot of players like to play in SJ, and usually end up staying if the team wants them to.

We'll all miss Seto though. Sucks that he signed a 3 year deal and held a media conference saying how he loved playing for the Sharks, only to be traded right after. Best of luck to him.

Yea we gave up quite a bit for burns, but like everyone's been saying we need D. Kinda sucks burns will be asking for a pretty penny next year because how much we gave up to get him.

RIP my sharks seto jersey (I'll still rock it at the games tho)

I'm a huge Sharks fan and will tell you guys this. This is the piece we need. Our top 6 is now pretty slow with the loss of Seto and Coyle is a superstar in the making so we gave up a lot for Burns but both teams got what they needed. Minn. needed scoring presence and we needed to improve our D.

Did we overpay? Well we will see in a year. If we win the Cup next year then no, even if Burns doesn't re-sign. If we don't win the Cup AND Burns doesn't re-sign, we lost a lot of talent for 1 year.

Burns will be asking up towards 6M a year. If we can sign him then we have a replacement for Boyle.

Heatley traded to MIN for Havlat. We'll be the SJ Wild here soon the way DW is swapping players.

Sharks shouldn't have given up machalek if they wanted speed (all star + speed) a few years ago. Should have stuck with pure talented speed like him and Marleau.

The d needs to be buffed up for sure. Boyle is an offensive D man, need more of a freight train and the Sharks picked up an Allstar. As a matter of fact, I would hope the Sharks get another reputable D man. I don't think 1 trade and 1 free agent on the defensive side is the answer.

They picked up a big centerman too, but I dont know how good he is... Sharks have Clowe, Thorton, Mitchel as centermen already.

IMO Boyle is garbage. I know everyone will be like "OH he is good, what are you talking about?" BUT I could not even count how many goals were his fault this playoffs, he constantly leaves people open in front of the net and so many own goals. his horrible f*** ups are over over shadowed by his occasional goal. We need more D, I feel the Heatley deal was a positive one for our team.

Glad to see Heatley go. We save around $2 million on the deal and we get rid of a slow poke on the ice.

Brent Burns and his wife toured San Jose for a week, and really like it here. So instead of being a 1 year rental player, the Sharks give him a contract extension: 5 years $28.8 million that includes a limited no-trade clause.

Sharks also sign defenseman Colin White to a 1 year $1 million deal

I wonder if they visited east side San Jose first...."oh look honey, girls in panties serving coffee. How delightful."

Stoked Burns signed an extension and I'm happy with who's signed during FA. I'd like to see Welly resigned, but I doubt that'll happen.

Most interested to see how Havlat pans out; he lacks the Heater snipe, but makes up for it in every other facet. 62pts on a mediocre offensive team, so hopefully he can at least match that with the Sharks.

P.S.- just watched the last half of game 3 against LA. Can't wait for the season to start....

Jeez, no one has posted in here for over a month....

I just got back from the game. Yeah yeah, it's still pre-season, but they won again! It was a split squad, so no Thornton, no Marleau, etc. Clowe, Mitchell, Demers, and White (not Ian) were at the game tonight though. Kind of a boring 1-0 win.

October 8th is getting closer!

Let's go Sharks!!!

They haven't aired any of the pre season games on tv yet.

At least not on Comcast.
