Cuz I was wondering why you mentioned "free" parking, I had to look up the info on paid parking there. I had NO CLUE that they charge on wknds & holidays since the 1 or 2 times per season I roll there, it's a Friday. Good to know that Subies are FREE when they do charge to $20 parking fee.

I NEVER ride that place though. Only upside for me is riding at night and I'd rather drink beers after riding all day...
We all know it's a super small resort, but I use it as a training hill. To help build up my shred conditioning, I typically go for my 1st sesh of the season. I get a buncha runs in (I did 30+ a couple yrs back)... although they're not very long by any stretch of the imagination.

Yep. I got both. I haven't activated them yet, but will likely this week. Do you need one?

Boreal & Mt. Rose opened for the season yesterday. And another handful will do so next week just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday.

It looks like the forecast over the next week shows about a foot of accumulation in the upper elevations. Not bad, eh?

Crossing my fingers for at least TWO really serious dumps of precip over the next 3 weeks or so. But for the early season, most resorts just need the temps to stay low enough so they can fire up the snowmaking guns.

Only thing now is I gotta get back into my workout routine. Been slacking over the last few weeks.

Haha! I hear ya, bruddah. I went for a short run this morning, then did some bodyweight exercises. My legs weren't happy. I gotta log some training in over the next few weeks cuz I'm planning to do my typical early-season on-mtn conditioning at Boreal on the 9th. $15 Fridays!!! woot woot!

Btw, didya need one of the snowbomb vouchers?

Nope. You use em! Free tickets to bear will come in handy.

I know this is far off but I'm pretty much set on going to China Peak on Jan 13th. Only reason is I'll already be in the Fresno area on the 14th for a friends wedding so I'll be 1.5hrs away from the place anyways.

Thinking about driving down the night of the 12th, get a hotel then ride the 13th and come back to the same hotel that night.

I've never been to China Peak and figured it'd be a good chance to use my free lift. If anyone who went to snowbomb want to go too hit me up.

Depending on coverage & my schedule I'm shooting to make 12/10 or /11 my first day of the season either at Bear or Kwood.

keep me posted on china peak trip just after new year's. but i'll def pencil that date in as a possible trip. i've never been either, but i hear it's got the same local/ma-n-pop vibe as bear.

i don't recall if it's this forum or not, but somewhere i've come across semi-regular reports abt the terrain. lots of fun rock hucks, fun glade riding, slow chairs, smallish sized resort. it does sound like bear, right? LOL

China peak is very much like bear... but the chances of catching great snow are lower.
