Review on MPJ

Usually I would not waste my time giving negative reviews but I can not believe a vendor would go so low just to save a couple of bucks. Anyways, I bought a set of Perrin sway bar from MPJ last month, when I try to install it, the front sway wouldn’t fit properly, the edge was too close to the tie rods, so I have my boss take a look at it, he told me the same thing, the next morning, I took my car to mpj to see if they could have it install correctly, same thing happened. The mechanic at MPJ said, it seems like the front sway bar was for another car. On the spot, they said they’ll take care of it, they’ll exchanged it for another brand. This morning, I got a call from the parts manger, his name was Soren or something, and btw I have a 04 wrx,

Soren- I try calling Perrin, but they won’t be open until nov 7, I check, and the sway was for your car.
Me- that can’t be, even your mechanic said there is no possible way that it’ll fit.
Soren- in that case, it must be a manufacture defect.
Me- I don’t know, it can, but your mechanic said it seems like it was design for another car.
Soren- was the package open when you bought it from us?
Me- it was tape sealed, but the grease was missing, so, I’ll not 100% sure
Soren- there’s nothing I can do about it, you can try calling Perrin, we’re just a vender, we don’t do manufacture warranty,
Me- but you guys gave me a part that didn’t even fit my car. as a vendor, aren’t you responsible to make sure that the parts fit before you resell it? So basically, what you’re trying to say is I’m just stuck with the parts.
Soren- you should try to call Perrin,

This is the summary of what we talk about over the phone.
Soren, please comment on this.

wow prepare to get flamed...some ppl here hate reviews if it's anything other than praise. even though i firmly believe that reviews should be posted wether they are good OR bad, i still think you have ***** for comin to the forums with this...ive had my share of mpj experiences as well.

Why should he get flamed if he had a bad experience with a vendor? That makes no sense at all.

Wow thats not good customer service. I got brakes from them before and returned it without a problem. Speak to the manager or owner.

Got front and back strut bars from them (whiteline) at least a year ago. When rear didnt fit, I pm'ed one of them here, got a response a day later, went in and picked up another one. I dunnu what I got the first time, but mouning plates looked a bit different. No issues with exchange. Hopefully you get yours resolved

Did it look like it was touching the tie-bars after you set the front end down or while the front was lifted.

hmm.. well the swaybar shouldn't move while driving so I maaay be ok.
Umm have you compared your old stock one with the perrin one?
Are they both the same size? (Length-wise)

Maybe try turning the steering wheel while the perrin sway is on to see if you hear or have someone check the front for rubbing.

Just a thought.
Good luck.

Well if MPJ's mechanic failed to install the sway bar then I would think it is safe to say the thing didn't fit. If what davisvans is saying is true and if my own mechanic is telling me it's the wrong size I would either refund the customer or offer him a replacement simple as..
