i honestly cant believe what people charge, thats why i want to get into the field.

seriously i'm a third year art student, i've taken 3d camera techniques, storyboarding etc. i know how to frame stuff as long as i get exposure right. Tho i'm still a noob, how bad could the pictures be?
The dude isn't just a photographer... He's a theme artist.. He makes NOTHING into the craziest something! Trust me, when I heard how much he cost, I shat myself... then we went and met him... he showed his work, and my poosy fell out because of how astonished I was. This guy is insane.

That's him... When I met him in real life and saw his work, it blew me away.

i still dont see it, i mean, his enter page picture of the ring is the flattest picture he couldve chosen in regards to light.

Good pictures no doubt, like the dark ones on the beach, but he probly has some assistant with a soft box reflective thingy (but this is why im not getting the big bucks since i dont know what they call it.)

still waiting for someone take advantage of me!

JZ007 should chime in soon, DanyoCantDrift is also into photography, dont know how much or what type

Yeah, but it's the concept of the picture that is spur of the moment that allows him to take such great photos, not the light or traditional dyanamics... He makes it into more than just a photograph... and if you want to earn big bucks, you need to be able to achieve that. Look at it from a consumers position, not a photographers position.. because after all, it's all that matters.

well from a consumer standpoint his website looks like every other wedding photographers

"candid this blah blah"
"photo journalistic"
"moment"
"try to make them interesting" uhh isnt that what photography is?

but

I'd say its like squeezing HP out of an engine, its like you get more horses in the beginning and the last 5 hp can cost more than the car etc. He knows his S*** for sure and youll have awesome photos. And youll never regret your photos no matter what you spend. As long as you arent stressing about relying on a cheap photographer.

I'm just need to be under someones wing for a year or so.

sorry but i would rather have to remember the memories than pay someone 5-7k to give us proof of memories..

paying someone to adjust a lense, and press a button for 5k for about 8 hours of his time plus editing? **** no. waste of money. I would rather put disposable cameras on the tables and let people take pictures and leave them at the end of the night...

i have a friend who is amazing at wedding photography and charges 1k for over 200 perfect photos.... not counting all the other random photos he takes that he doesn't find perfect but we might.

7k to trap light in a lense = rip off no matter how good you are... i don't care if i sound hard headed.. i do web design, and it drives me up the wall when web designers charge 5k for some stupid dinky web site with zero programming. its like wtf is the point of me paying SO much to you.. you could have made that from simple crap and yet i am paying you so much.

3k is my max.

Sorry, I don't mean to hijack your thread.

Here's some of my pics. I gathered what I could from this computer and made a flickr account. Like Kyle, replace the objects with people .

you don't have to pay 5-$7, but dude, what you're saying is an insult to professional photographers. there a whole lot more to it than just clicking, but oh well. it is not even worth talking about. find out what the bride wants, you will be surprised how much you will spend after. those things are more important to her than you.
