This morning going to work, around 6:15am on Monroe about 2 blocks south of Wilcox High. I saw a WRB wrapped around a pole (I'm guessing that it happened about 2 hours before). Emergency crews closed down the street, I didn't see an ambulance just cops and investigators. Looked like the car slid sideways into the pole.

WRB sedan with bronze wheels, I couldn't tell much else due to the damage to the car.

damn sounds like who ever it was is not ok... btw it was a 22 yr old male and no other info is avalable at this time

It happened at about 0115 this morning. Confirmed fatal collision. The pole somehow made it between the drivers side headlight and the block and took out the driver. speed was estimated at approx 110mph. Much too fast for even Subie engineering to help.

 

anyone know if he's a BAIC'er?

Whoever he was, he used very poor judgement and paid for it with his life.

I live a couple of miles there.....heard the guy FLY past my place on Homestead about 1AM. Cops were shortly behind (sirens blaring, cops easily doing 70-80), and it was obvious the guy in the turbo car (couldn't tell if it was WRX or other, just heard the turbo....was LOUD!) wasn't letting up

 

running from the cops huh.... too bad.

Man. All over trying to avoid a ticket. Such a shame.

 

Maybe he killed somebody and there's a warrant out for him.

 

I wonder if that recall for the throttle cable clip caused it to get stuck on WOT, or if he was just being dumb and haulin' azz/racing.

Hmm.. Turn off ignition or run from cops.. I say, if that happened to me, I would turn off my ignition and whip out that Suby 800 number on the door window.
