Question for BAIC Photography people in the know
If you prereg CES is totally FREE. All you need to do is doctor up a fake business card for whatever Fake Company you are going as.
That is, if you can find a place to crash for a decent price... hotels charge about 300% for CES week. This also happens to be the Adult Expo week as well, so I'll try to sneak in pics for everyone, but I don't have access to that show. All this adds up to come ridiculous lodging prices.

Awesome photos JohnDM555! You really turned the tables, those inside shots when you first got the camera compared to your storm ones HOLY CRAP! Nice close ups too, wish i had my camera since it was stranded at home, i stayed in the South bay thru the storm, watching pink sunsets disappear within 1 minute...sigh haha
that would be awesome! Still gotta meet up, i read you go to the big dog meet, or JDM555 south bay meet? The only one i do is the Wed Duke, a couple times a month.

Hey, Thanks a LOT for the great comments guys! I don't even know what bokeh is, but I searched it and I think it's when you have a very shallow DOP so the background is extremely blurry? If so, I love trying to do that when I get a something small in focus lol. I usually just look around for that "specific" angle to make it so the background is extremely blurry to make the item stick out eve more. The 2nd set of pictures I posted, are ALL using the Sigma 70-300mm lens. I have a couple more shots I'll post tomorrow, for now, it's time to sleep.

you need f/0.95 for awesome bokeh! LOL!
no...good bokeh is usually in glass construction. good glass (that's why expensive lenses usually have good bokeh) usually gives you some silky smooth bokeh which is very pleasing, instead of something that just goes "BAM, i'm out of focus." there's a bunch of old lenses that gives awesome bokeh. and btw, bokeh is a japanese word.
this is from the lens that i consider to have the best bokeh out of my lenses.

^cool i'll let you know for sure when i'll be there.
yeah i figured instead of using fixed lenses for this bokeh stuff, i'd just buy a zoom and then photoshop blur my own bokeh lol. jk, i'll still try it tho

John I'd say for the second series of images that you posted, the composition is far better than the ones from the inside images. I think that in the second image for the outdoor series, the composition cuts out on the right a bit more than I would have liked, but other than that the majority of the images look quite nice.
And for bokeh...
I love having the creamy backgrounds. Cheaper quality lenses do not render bokeh as nicely.. Often times you will see angular blurred areas due to the aperture blades but on nicer lenses it is all very smooth and quite nice looking.. One lens that I have that I really like the bokeh of is the 80-200 2.8 AF-S. The backgrounds to those are amazing..
John, from what I've seen of your images, it looks like you enjoy macro photography a lot.. If you want to get more into it I would say that a good investment would be in a dedicated macro lens. A good affordable one is the Tamron 90mm F/2.8 or the Canon 60mm macro lens. Both are not super cheap like the 50mm or anything like that... but cheap is all relative in photography
Also a flash would also help a lot in lighting the macro images.
The biggest thing is just enjoying the gear you have though
Try not to buy any extraneous gear because all it will do is make your gear bag heavier and more expensive.
