Question for Android and Tablet peoples
Hello all, I just picked up a Tab 10.1 (thought it would be a cool thing to pull out when showing work for interviews) I'm playing with the thing and there are some nice things about android, some not so much.
Question. is there a way to have the volume rocker flip in function depending on the current orientation? I find it stupid to have to push down for up and up for down or right for down and left for up. You'd think the devlopers would think of that; seems like 4 simple lines of code would make thing so much nicer.
Question 2. is there a way to make the typing more responsive? seems like a bit of a lag.
Question 3. is there a way to set up the autocorrect to work like apple products? doesn't seem like android is fixing my horrible ability to spell.
Also, are the any cool apps that i should look into? Thanks!

how slow it responds, all the high quality tablets use the same screen with pinch to zoom and all that jazz, what brand is it and how much did you pay?

go in to settings there should be a tap in there for the auto correct to turn it off and on but most of the taps i have seen already have it turned on. as for the response there should be a tab in settings for the sensitivity it in the same place as the accelerometer settings
The stock honeycomb browser has been known to lag, try the mozilla browser or dolphin browser apps. As for the auto correct look into the tablet version of swiftkey, its a keyboard replacement app that makes things much easier and runs smoother.

This is all built into the keyboard settings, so I'm sure your tab has something. Again, look into Swype. Since it's a different keyboard it will have a different auto correct.

can't help you too much with this one, but I can point you in the right direction: Samsung Galaxy Tab - xda-developers
You're on Android, look into swype. Best text input available imho.

Honeycomb seems buggy as hell. Lots of crash apps, but its still new and the fragmentation of Android isn't helping I'm sure.
Should I root this thing? What's the gain in it?
