question for the android folks

Is there any of the newer android phones that don't use micro USB? I use my device in and out of vehicles and I find that the stupid prongs on any of the chargers wear out after a month and after 6 months the phone side wears out and I feel this is a flaw with their design (I've had 4 different droids and they all give me problems with the stupid charger)

I'd rather a round plug which rotates with movement or mini USB

every android device i've had uses micro usb - very very rarely have i seen anything with a barrel type power connector, those usually aren't android.

the only two brands that come to mind for going w/something other than standard would be nokia and samsung.

I have no idea why the standard switched from a well designed plug (mini usb) with little problems to a poorly designed one with lots of problems.

I literally buy a new car charger every month and replace the phone every 3 months via warranty

They need to go universal and it needs to NOT be micro USB. I've had several blow out. Stupid design.

that'd be cool, but on average I'm in 7 different vehicles every week, so portability is a must

I believe that all cell phone manufactures came to an agreement to use micro-usb from now on.

You guys must have ham hands. I have never broken a micro usb plug for a phone in all the years I have been using them.

I've had my EVO for over a year now and haven't had any problems with the microUSB. I did have to buy a new car charger cause my other one failed, but that was after a full year of use. Every drive home from work I would use it. I bought a $20 one from radioshack. They offered me the warranty cause they say that they do burn out but I turned it down.
