a fouled plug like that can mean oil getting in ie: ring, or the seal that goes around the that particular plug hole. I wouldn't say pump, as then you'd think all the plugs would look that way.

I've had this problem before, but on a Mikuni carb. Ended up being a broken #2 power jet in the carb. So I will be switching to say injector if only one is messed up.

i would suggest putting spark plugs in the car. My experience is that when you remove 4 spark plugs from a car, it tends to run poorly
