+1 on not getting a keltec, get a reliable AR, you can get them used off calguns for around yhe same price, but do yourself a favor and get lessons for everyone who touches it, and make sure to secure it.
Personally I keep mine with an empty mag in it so if anyone but me picks it up they can't load the mags that are near it quickly without a tool and knowing where the mags are. I carry a tool on my dominant wrist paracord bracelet.

That's the only Ar I have direct experience with. I find I'm accurate to about a quarter from about 50 meters. I have the materials to prep for my hand cert. I hope to get that pretty soon but I don't like the idea of using one in my home. But I have an 870 for that.
