Just for the record, I'd like to point out that none of us are innocent, all of us have done hypocritical stupid things before. However, we were lucky enough that they have not cost us our lives.

This officer may have been racing, may have been speeding, may have been chasing after someone who was street racing, may have had a heart attack, stroke, loss of consciousness, suicide wish, or something else happen. At this point, I haven't heard any statement made about a definitive cause.

I want to remind you guys to not throw stones when your house is also made of glass. You may not have sped ever in your life You may have never done something you weren't supposed to do You may have never broken a single law and put others in danger You may never have done something at home that you were only allowed to do at work You may have always been this perfect and conscious of others around you, always being sure to follow the law and think of others first... but the chances are that you haven't and never will be.

"Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.
"Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye.
-Matthew 7:1-5
None of us are perfect, none of us are less guilty than one another. We all make mistakes and some of us are fortunate enough to not had to suffer the consequences yet.

-Steven

Cop got caught in some illegal activity. Maybe it time for the popo's to own up to something wrong and maybe even apologize to the people that lost power and for the lives that the LEO put in danger.

Ive had a few tickets and fought them within the law, but I did get caught doing something wrong, and owned up to it.

for him to have bent the pole, he had to have been going pretty fast. Being an LEO puts a lot of pressure on you and he is the only one, besides a possible other car, that knows what happened. If it was a street race, make an example of him because it should not be tolerated. If it was something else, move on. Just tired of LEOs getting away with so much and thinking they are above the law because they help uphold it. I also support LEOs 100% as long as they are not corrupt.

My point isn't targeting the tickets you've got or the things you've necessarily been witnessed doing by other people. It may be what you know you've done when no one else is watching. In my reserve firefighter background investigation, there was a section for nonconvicted crimes you've committed - it was sobering. It made me realize that I've done some messed up things and I'm relatively a straight shooter.

If the officer was guilty of street racing, then make an example so that this may be less likely to occur again. If not, then like you said, move on and lets let him rest in peace.

If there is corruption it should be dealt with and put to an end... any where. Both public and private sectors. In your business and in mine as well as theres.

While we all know that street racing is bad, I feel its a little disrespectful to talk **** about a guy who is already dead.

Im sure he was a fine upstanding officer until this use of poor judgement and accident.
RIP

Like someone said earlier, LEOs are humans too. They make mistakes. Only this time he paid with his life. I just want to say that keep your racing on the race track. There's no point of trying to prove you're faster just for your ego's sake. Someone will always be faster.

At least the other driver came forward and turned himself in to the police. Most people would have stayed hidden...
