*75 to pass*. Wait, was this in town, locally?? The Canyon? What??

Thus John-Q-Public's reason for being butthurt.

These days I just say "screw it" and take one of the side roads instead. That or say eff-it and stop at a coffee place to chill for a few minutes and let the sheep parade finish up ahead of me. Heck I've stopped at a field and juggled the soccerball for a bit to let it clear up.

With all the road-ragers these days it isn't worth it to me. What if the guy who caught up to you got out of the car and walked over to start crap? You couldn't hear anything at first, if on the bike or your window was down that person can get the drop on you.

Sounds like a personal problem to me. I really don't care that I scared someone... But I'm a bit peeved that are pissed cause, well, they can't handle it.
This is it. I have discovered the same thing. Some people aren't confident enough to do it, so they think its unsafe. People that are unconfident in their driving and second guess themselves are the unsafe ones. My opinion.

Gagan - the only issue I had with your story was the earbuds. I am sorry to be another saying the same thing, and I don't mean to beat the dead horse. When I drive a non-bluetooth car I use the earbud with the mic, on the right ear, and usually stick the left earbud in the sun visor which holds the mic at a perfect spot.

The other day I had some dude majorly pissed off because I was riding his butt over 152.

I'm like... dude... there is NO ONE in front of you. I caught up to you like you're standing still... you are literally driving 15mph under the speed limit... you just passed 3 turn outs and 3 signs that say slow traffic use turn outs...

And you're pissed at me? **** you.

Or I'll pass someone that's driving under the speed limit and catch them flipping me off or something. I'm like... wtf does it matter to you? I'm not effecting your drive. I'm going by you and in 35 seconds I'll be so far gone you'll never see me again in your life. But it's necessary to flip me off and take the chance that I'm in a bad mood and decide it would be a good idea to cut you off and slap my breaks instead of merge safely over with my blinker 300 feet in front of you... hmmmm....

Whatever moron.
Totally, exactly. I bet a lot of us have issues like this. I have thought about it a lot and the only thing I can think of is that you dented their "pride" or something. Another thing is maybe your presence scared them and they were not able to finish their text or whatever. I see sooooo many people glued to their phones.. On my casual drive every day on 280, I have had more than a few people follow me with rage-faces after I apparently woke them up by driving my vehicle near to the area where they were using their phone while flying down the road in theirs. I think I understand why some lady would follow me screaming at me and flipping me off even less than the rest of this. How does she not know whether or not I intend to follow her and make her face into a hat? Just crazy.

A friend of my sister used to say proudly that she would drive ~70 in the fast lane enjoying people getting mad because it's fast enough for her, so it has to be fast enough for anyone else. Anyone that would dare get close to her bubble of pretentiousness would be instantly tagged as a crazy maniac driver. I thought of her when I was getting brake-checked by a jerk in front of me on my way up 92E on the way to Redwood City with my wife in labor in the back seat (was not driving crazy at all, mostly).

Yep, this has happened to me so many times on 92E and 92W from 101N, 101N from Ralston, that little stretch from 280S to 92W which is SOMUCHFUN, etc etc etc, or going 35S from 92W and realizing that the person on my bumper is no longer there.

***NOTE: after all my talk about how fun underpowered, light cars are, there are occasions where having more than adequate power is really nice to be able to get past these folks and into the fun parts of the road. I guess I just have this dumb, hopeful idea that people will get better at driving. While I am dreaming, I would like a pony. I'm retarded. Please tip your waitresses.

*Missed the part where you said it was a Honda.

Hopefully not a GOLD Honda. Like one that's been keyed from the rear left quarter panel all the way to the front fender. Dude live's local and he was the one who I thought did that 880 Rage bit weeks ago. He lives off of Uranus (I am not kidding, the street is named that!) and Pleiades and goes down Alvarado all aggro on everyone every single morning. I take UCB South now b/c of that.

Goes back to what I said, if they're crazy enough to vent after following you it's possible they're also crazy/stupid enough to try something violent.

Not worth the 5 minutes you save at the end of the day.

I think it was green. I barely saw an arm wave as my light turned green and I took off.

*shrugs*

if you can see ahead of you and there's no danger why not, i would. I hate the people that are ahead of the group just driving slow as hell.

1)This is why I drive the big trucks with big bumpers. Stupid people tend to MOVE when all they can see is a huge metal bumper in their mirror and I move up inches off them. Go on, hit the brakes, I will go thru your car and turn you into mush before I can stop.

2)I still am having trouble believing you all are debating how he passed someone, when the crime is the fact he is covering BOTH ears, becoming a danger to others, and a scientifically proven distraction to himself.

The problem here isn't passing people, its using headphones/buds.

Am I the only one who carries when they drive? Too many road-ragers, fake cops, and car jackers to not carry.

1. New Job. New Responsibilities.

2. No Weapons Policy.

3. Yes, No Weapons. Not even my EDC Benchmade.

4. I'll stab someone with a Bic pen and snap a neck if need be no holds barred. I find it better to just not get myself into that situation and if it ever does arise I always have my cell phone set to auto record video with just a swipe.

5. Yes, I still carry when not on company time.

Great, that's all we need next - some idiot killing some other idiot with a gun, over a perceived traffic infringement. Thus giving ammo for even more gun control crap. It would be awesome if people could stop doing stupid crap with guns or even talking about it so that my kids will be permitted to carry some day in this crazy world. ****ing ****!

Okay, back to how someone would purposely cause a crash with someone, carrying weapons whilst driving, and being mad at Gagan about wearing earbuds on the road.
