IMO, Vandoorne has something to prove in his F1 debut, while both Alonso and Button is at the tail end of their careers with a crap car and is probably unmotivated.

I wonder if Honda is now kicking themselves for their $30+ million a year salary they are paying him????
wait, what kind of logic is that? Alonso was taken out in the first race and held back from Bahrain, how is this his fault? How does this make Vandoorne better than Alonso?? The car is clearly better this year, how about you wait till Alonso actually gets to finish a race this year?

I've been saying this about Alonso for the last 3 years...I've decided to not stop now.

And he wasn't taken out. He crashed....

Exactly. He was taken out by Steve.

Also a bummer because I'm curious if Steve can pull the same pace as Grosjean. But he hasn't finished either race so far.

If the you change the name Alonso with Maldonando (like the many times he too did this) you would blame Maldonado...but since this was the holy child of F1 now it's the car in fronts fault?
He drafted, miscalculated the speed of the car in front, went to take the outside line after leaving the draft and nailed the car in front... How is it Stevie's fault?

It was mutual. Alonso was taken out by Steve. Steve was taken out by Alonso. It was a racing incident.

Since the topic is on Alonso, the phrase is Alonso was taken out by Steve. If we were talking about Steve, the phrase would be Steve was taken out by Alonso.

You can change either name to Crashtor. But neither of them are Crashtor. Neither of them have a history of crashing every other race.

I still wish Rossi had gotten that seat for Haas, but I see the reason considering the popularity of the Mexican Gp...sad... American (well
Dallara) chassis and an American driver would have been awsome!

I disagree with that statement. Anytime you hit someone from behind in racing without being hit first -- it's your fault. It's up to the passing driver to make sure he has the clear lane. Nothing else matters.

EDIT: Now that I'm reading the FIA rules, this seems to be extremely vague. So I can't actually argue against your point, even though I disagree Link: http://sports.stackexchange.com/ques...this-situation

The only time FA would have owned the turn is if he had actually successfully gained physical space alongside Sg before the impact....basically if SG turned into FA...then it would be a racing incident...
However, FA hit SG right rear tire...whilst trying to jump out of a draft, late brake and take a ownership of the outside entry into the corner...so no ownership of a lane occurred...just an impact due to a miscalculation...

But FA has so many nut swingers due to his performance so many years ago...that people won't call a spade a spade...or a relatively washed up per dollar driver a washed up per dollar driver...

Speaking of bench racing in hind sight...is China this Saturday at 2230 hrs? Or am I getting my info crossed? I'm trying to get my dvr programmed for practice quali and then the race...(as I plan to be yelling and screaming at drunk people who are supposed to be watching the race instead of watching the race when we are watching the race)....

I agree that Alonso was at fault....the only reason people didn't blame him or give him a penalty was because he could have got seriously hurt and people were relieved when he walked away
