Team radio clampdown extends to Formula 1 pit boards - F1 news - AUTOSPORT.com
This is some ****ing bull****!!!
This is some ****ing bull****!!!
Let me preface this by saying I'm not a Vettel fan.
It is pretty tough to have wins when starting outside the top-3, when you almost always started P1-3 for years. It's a silly frame to make for the NBCSN broadcast, other than the fact that it will create flame wars like I'm sure it has across the internet's F1 community.

Years? Vettel had plenty of opportunity in 2012.

So he should not qualify well to prove some point?
There are many races where he may have started well but got passed or had trouble and battled back.
Regardless, the car was good and allowed that.
Ricardo is better than I thought he'd be, and this car suits him well. He wasn't like this in the Toro Rosso.
You can't knock Vettel for qualifying so well. Also so many things come into a win: car trouble for other drivers, accidents, safety cars ruining strategy.
That stat doesn't mean ****. Well, other than I doubt Ricardo will have 39 wins 4 years from now, but I've been wrong before.

He went from 24th to 3rd that year...
2012 is the one year that he didn't dominate. But he still won. Half the season he started outside the top 3rd and his best finish was 2nd from 6th.
Is the stat absolutely relevant? No. But it is interesting.

I can't see Riccardo winning a championship the next few years if Vettel is still his teammate. I can see him being the next Webber/Massa/Barrichello. Hopefully I'm wrong.

If he gets a top car, he will be in the title hunt.
