I know you meant FP3.

So what if you put a new engine and make setup changes. Do you still start at the back or pit lane?

FIA confirms 2015 rules including standing restarts - F1 Fanatic

pretty funny they're saying that switching from 5 engines to 4 is a "cost cutting" step, seeing as the real money spent is in the R+D and engineering with teams spending upwards of $150 million a year, a $1 million engine is a drop in the bucket. If anything the teams will have to spend ten times that much re-engineering their 4 motors to last 20% longer -_-

Yes, I did.

Back of the pack. And wow... No changes after FP3??? Why even have a FP3? What if your FP2 setup was better, then youd be screwed.

Exactly!!

They will spend tons of money just to make the motors last longer, far more than to just build some new engine.

The engine is probably going to go up. Here's the supposed price for the current engines with transmission, fluids, etc: The onomatopoeia of F1 engines | joeblogsf1

Ferrari: $30 million
Renault: $40 million
Mercedes: $26 million
