As far as getting to the park from most parts of the Bay Area & beyond, the park website recommendation is best:
Travel to the park by taking Highway 101 or Highway 680 to Alum Rock Avenue eastbound in San Jose. Turn right onto Mt. Hamilton Road and travel eight miles to reach the park entrance.
Also, be aware that online maps & directions tools, like GoogleMaps, give a destination endpoint (18405 Mount Hamilton Rd; San Jose CA) that is about 1/3 mile or less away from the actual park entrance.

And since we're talking park entrance, let's help park staff move things along smoothly by being prepared w/ EXACTLY 6 dollars for the vehicle parking fee.

As was mentioned, leashes are required on our four-legged friends. Y'all know your pets & know instances when to take precautions -- i.e. when other animals, bikes, crowds, etc. are around. Complete info found HERE.

This needs repeating... please wear your wrist bands. As part of our permission to have the food trucks there, they are only allowed to sell to event attendees. And please support their time & effort to provide us their tasty food & bev.

TIP: if you have a gopro or similar camera make sure its charged and ready, and know that the angle/location you film from works so you don't have an hour of nothing recording
And if you ever were thinking about buying one then do it now!

If you haven't driven up Hammy before, be aware, there are plenty of turns before hitting the trees (The cliff area) that have gravel on the turns you WILL lose traction if you're being a dick around them. Also if you're in a caravan one idiot will cause multiple people to do so and you end up with many cars possibly crashing please be aware of that. It's definitely not a walk in the park keep your eyes open and drive safe.
