Why did we draft a TE? Don't we have like 6 on our roster already? There must be something I don't know but was relatively confused on that one.

Bummer we didn't draft a corner but I didn't realize we have 9 cb/db on the roster at the moment haha I guess pre-season will be a chance for the young/previously injured guys to come out and show their stuff

VD is on the last year of his contract and maybe we trade him for picks? Plus last year we had 4 TE's on the roster and maybe had 2 healthy at anytime during the season.

I think that first pick is risky. Keep reading about how raw and undeveloped he is.

Agreed. And why does this seem par for the course with Baalke?

Half the people didn't like Aldon pick either. Look how that turned out.

As far as receivers go, we'll be fine. Torrey Smith/Boldin/Ellington/Patton/Simpson should suffice

TE picks are to get a red zone target and to replace VD.

Boring *** draft this year though that just added more depth.

I think the Niners have good depth at TE, he just wasn't much of a target and Celek, Vance, and that other dude have some upside.

wuh?

Torrey Smith is over rated as hell. Dude has a stupid low reception rate for a "number 1" receiver. Under 53% last year. His big season... under 47%. And that was from a very accurate passer with a long delivery and a slower paced ball... what's he gonna do with a guy with a short delivery that thrown 96mph fast ***** at your face from 8 yards out?

That's what you want in a number 1 receiver? Just for reference... Crabtree was up around 63% last year... James Jones that just got dropped.. 65%. They'd be wise to pick him up.

Boldin proved he's still got game but dude... he's 34. He's a dope receiver. I'm a big fan but he needs more help that Smith can provide.

Ellington is a returner. Had 6 catches last year. I'm sure he'll improve but what exactly are you hoping you'll get from him?

Patton has 6 catches in TWO seasons.

Simpson... You're talking about another dude that catches around 45 percent of his *****.

So you're left with one reliable receiver. 2 guys that can hit big but catch less than half their *****... and 2 guys with a combined 12 catches in 3 seasons.

I'm not sure where you're getting that the staff is good. Quite honestly.. it ****ing sucks. They were stupid not to draft a WR last year and it showed.... and they missed out on some dope WR's. This year they made an even bigger mistake.

They better hope the kid they drafted is a needle in the haystack.

If they're smart they'll pick up Jones.

^Agreed

As for the team, a lot of new faces, so we really don't know what we'll get. We will see when the season starts.

Maybe. But I doubt it. This team revolves around the defense, keeping the score low and ball control. I think they'll follow the Seattle plan of attack.

But they might pass more... or at least they'll call more passes and CK will run more.

The team used to revolve around defense. The fact is none of us know what the new staff will do.

I still look forward to winning my bet against Gagan

What.. SF will have more wins that Oakland?

I can agree with that. Nobody knows until it happens.

But I think the team is still going to have a defensive focus considering the draft. I mainly don't have faith in the pass game for these four reasons.

1. CK7 is overrated as hell.
2. The WRs are average at best as a group.
3. The offensive line is average.
4. The running backs are unproven and/or injury prone.

Here are reasons why it may succeed.
1. CK7 may just pull his head out of his *** and work on being a real qb.
2. A healthy Bush is as good as any receiving RB in the NFL.
3. New TE might be good.
4. I like Hyde.

So... we'll just have to wait and see. LOL!
